I am an amateur genealogist and photographer, proud granddaughter of Greek immigrants and one USA born grandmother whose family dates back to the early 1600's in Massachusetts. She was the 9th GGD of Stephen Hopkins, one of the original passengers on the Mayflower. How ironic that when she married my grandfather in 1919, who was, at the time still a Greek citizen, she lost her citizenship due to the Cable Act, and had to reapply in 1931.

Visiting cemeteries and respecting grave sites was something she taught me when I was a young girl. Sundays after church were visiting days. We would pick zinnias grown by the side of the house and visit relatives' grave sites.

My photographs of grave stones really belong to the families of those memorialized; they are here to share. You are welcome to use for your own family trees.

"If the memorial in question is a relative to you (within our transfer guidelines) and the memorial manager is not family, then they must transfer the memorial. Our transfer guidelines include these close relationships: child, spouse/PARTNER, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, NIECE/NEPHEW, GREAT-NIECE/NEPHEW, AUNT/UNCLE, GREAT-AUNT/UNCLE, or FIRST COUSIN. This would include ADOPTIVE, STEP and IN-LAW versions of these relationships."
