Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my families for over 30 years. Currently, I'm trying to scan & share a large collection of old family photographs and documents that have come to me from various relatives, mostly my late grandmother.

As I scan & prepare the photographs, I'm trying to post as many as possible to findagrave for others to enjoy. Especially the very old ones. Some that are labeled are not of known family connections so I'm also researching the names in an attempt to identify them.

One that I am very proud of is Jesse Elton McEwen, buried at Palms Woodland Cemetery, Miami-Dade Co FL. It took a fair amount of research to figure out that he is probably not related, but simply a neighbor of an ancestor in Carroll Co GA. I've created a memorial for him with the information I collected. Please visit his site and show him some love.

Another memorial that I'm very proud of is for my ancestor, William Francis Marion Nobles, who died as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas IL. His final resting place is Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co IL. Please visit him also.

I hope you enjoy visiting my paternal great grandfather, Hilborn Whit Hulsey. My maternal grandfather, Rev Virgil Sizemore, preached his funeral before there was a family connection. My parents were only 10 years old and I don't think they met until a few years later. If you know any of the people mentioned that aren't linked, please let me know.

Surnames I'm connected to include: Adair, Ashworth, Barnett, Beam, Black, Burks, Cates, Clore, Crow, Dickson, Dunson, Estes, Gilbert, Hendrix, Hulsey, Leathers, Lowe, Lyle, McBrayer, McGlathery, Meadors, Mobley, Mote/Motte, Nobles, Pate, Parr, Pinson, Reid, Sanders, Simonton, Sizemore, Stanford, Steele, Stephens, Tomme, Vining, Waldrop, Williams, and others.

Places I'm particularly connected to include: Laurens Co SC, Henry & Clayton Co GA, Carroll & Haralson Co GA, and Blount & Cullman Co AL.

I typically put both married names in the surname space. I don't think there's a standard way to handle this situation, except that you should do it the way the deceased would want it. Since both names are on the marker, I suspect this is the best way. I would be OK transferring to you if you like.

Velona Green Cleapor
Hi Debbie - I am writing to you concerning a memorial for my Mother Velona Katherine Green Cleapor. I tried to find my mother on Findagrave and she didn't turn up so I entered a memorial of my own. Once entered I decided to attach her mother and father to her and when I did I found that you had already entered a memorial under her maiden name of Green. So now there are two memorials on her and I'm not sure what to do. I uploaded photographs as well as more details on her including a correct date of death and am now wondering if one of us should delete our memorial. Please let me know if you have a problem deleting yours or if you would rather I delete mine.

RE: Karen Happuch
Also, I did know about this one, but had forgotten. I'm the one who took and posted the photo of her stone. :)

RE: Karen Happuch
I think I need to put her in my cemetery. I don't know if you read the note in my flower, or whether or not you know where the name comes from but it comes from the Bible. Keren-Happuch was the youngest of three daughters who were born to Job after his trials. Job 1:2; 42:14.

Glad you have found her. :)

RE: McBrayers
We split at the third generation where Ichabod and John B were brothers. From there I go to James R., Henry Freeland, John Lewis, Benjamin Edgar and me.

Wee had a reunion a couple of years ago in Cullman and met some new cousins there.

If your e-mail address is correct on Find A Grave, I'll send you a copy of the newsletter about the reunion.

I might add that I was responsible for the final arrangements for placing the memorial to William and Rebecca McBrayer in the old Brown's Mill Cemetery. The memorial was dedicated during a family reunion. There are tentative plans to have another reunion there next year.
