Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my families for over 30 years. Currently, I'm trying to scan & share a large collection of old family photographs and documents that have come to me from various relatives, mostly my late grandmother.

As I scan & prepare the photographs, I'm trying to post as many as possible to findagrave for others to enjoy. Especially the very old ones. Some that are labeled are not of known family connections so I'm also researching the names in an attempt to identify them.

One that I am very proud of is Jesse Elton McEwen, buried at Palms Woodland Cemetery, Miami-Dade Co FL. It took a fair amount of research to figure out that he is probably not related, but simply a neighbor of an ancestor in Carroll Co GA. I've created a memorial for him with the information I collected. Please visit his site and show him some love.

Another memorial that I'm very proud of is for my ancestor, William Francis Marion Nobles, who died as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas IL. His final resting place is Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co IL. Please visit him also.

I hope you enjoy visiting my paternal great grandfather, Hilborn Whit Hulsey. My maternal grandfather, Rev Virgil Sizemore, preached his funeral before there was a family connection. My parents were only 10 years old and I don't think they met until a few years later. If you know any of the people mentioned that aren't linked, please let me know.

Surnames I'm connected to include: Adair, Ashworth, Barnett, Beam, Black, Burks, Cates, Clore, Crow, Dickson, Dunson, Estes, Gilbert, Hendrix, Hulsey, Leathers, Lowe, Lyle, McBrayer, McGlathery, Meadors, Mobley, Mote/Motte, Nobles, Pate, Parr, Pinson, Reid, Sanders, Simonton, Sizemore, Stanford, Steele, Stephens, Tomme, Vining, Waldrop, Williams, and others.

Places I'm particularly connected to include: Laurens Co SC, Henry & Clayton Co GA, Carroll & Haralson Co GA, and Blount & Cullman Co AL.

RE: McBrayers
We split at the third generation where Ichabod and John B were brothers. From there I go to James R., Henry Freeland, John Lewis, Benjamin Edgar and me.

Wee had a reunion a couple of years ago in Cullman and met some new cousins there.

If your e-mail address is correct on Find A Grave, I'll send you a copy of the newsletter about the reunion.

I might add that I was responsible for the final arrangements for placing the memorial to William and Rebecca McBrayer in the old Brown's Mill Cemetery. The memorial was dedicated during a family reunion. There are tentative plans to have another reunion there next year.

Thank you Debbie for all the McBrayer entries you have made on this site. They will help fill in some blanks in the MacBrair Family Association records. I have not yet determined our exact relationship but I'm sure we are.

Hi Debbie. No I'm not related to that family. I was out at Laurel Land taking pictures and noticed the spelling difference between her headstone and the memorial. When I researched, I saw that the name on her death certificate was misspelled.

Good luck with your research. Setting up a virtual cemetery is a great idea, I may do the same :)

Have a great weekend,
Debbie

RE: Link...
No worries! I already put a note on the memorial page itself. Don't stress over it if it doesn't work :)

BTW - Awesome system with the coded flowers!

That's a great idea. I always put a note in the "note" section just in case anyone has a question but a link is even better! I recently had someone request an edit that someone else had already provided info on and was able to hook them up to compare notes. What a warm fuzzy that was :) LOL

I'll add her to my list of people to look for next time I go to the archives...unless you already have an obit on her?

Hi Debbie!
It's no problem! Some people approve edits without even checking the info at all, which I feel is so irresponsible. I've had people challenge info in edits that others have submitted so I like to have documentation on the memorial so that people can see for themselves where the info came from! I have so many memorials that if someone asks me why I added information I honestly wouldn't remember! :)
