I am an enthusiastic genealogist and got into graving when I started looking for my ancestors. I have since branched out and started doing graves of non-family members. Graving has turned into my second obsession. I am an active volunteer with the cemeteries here in El Dorado County and love every minute of it. I am the FAG County Keeper for El Dorado County, CA and am really enjoying it. Unfortunately, many of our graveyards throughout this country are suffering from disuse and neglect. I've found that Find-a-Grave is a great way to help preserve graves and cemeteries and also provides a way for people to visit their ancestors or friends even though they can't visit the graves in person.|
I recently married a wonderful lady named Sherida, who, it turns out, is also great in cemeteries. We now have a partnership in Findagrave.com. Now isn't that a wonderful match?
To error is human, so if you find any errors, or if you have additional information on anyone I've entered into Find-a-Grave, please contact me via the "Suggest a Correction" tab so I can correct it. Thank You.

Hello Paul and Sherida, I would like to ask permission to use your headstone photos of my ancestors in my genealogy and to post to my Ancestry.com tree. I am currently looking at Lucinda Hayes Gray 16140501. Thanks

Thanks for contacting me back. I was working on my Step-Grandma's side last night but I looked in my edits and dont see for sure which ones you are talking about. When an edit is sent you can always see and click on the others. I've never not had it send the link of the people the edits were for.

|Jeff Darrell||Sincere thanks for your work|
I wanted to sincerely thank you for your efforts in photographing the gravesite of my 2nd Great Grandfather, Elisha Prescott (His stone is only labeled ‘PRESCOTT”) in Old Uppertown Cemetery in Placerville. Because of your efforts, I was able to locate his resting place and the photos make the site and him come alive for the family. I have submitted a research request to the Historical Society there to try and get more detail but again would not be able to have done so without your efforts. I have submitted a Suggest A Correction and don’t know how long that takes and I have also left an info memorial on the Findagrave site for him, but I wanted to get you the information directly as well.
I also asked the historical society of any recommendations for hiring some gravesite cleanup and trimming services as it looks a bit forlorn. :) I am happy to share more family genealogical info if that is helpful or of any interest.
b. 16 AUG 1822 in Thomaston, Maine. Married Elizabeth L Hall (b.7 NOV 1847; d. 26 AUG 1917) His daughter Laura Abigail Prescott Bryant (Bryant-Adopted Father’s name-Elizabeth Hall Prescott’s 2nd marriage in 1855) (b. 24 MAR 1849; d. d. 22 AUG 1926.) He was a Ship’s Carpenter and set out to help his family by sailing to CA and making his way to search for gold; applying for his passport on 5 MAR 1849. He met his demise under unknown circumstances in November of 1850. He is not forgotten.

Once again, thank you very much for your efforts in graving. It is clear that in spite of not knowing these people, you are aware and appreciative of the fact that they were real people with real stories and loved ones. I am grateful for how much your efforts have helped me in filling in this important gap in my family’s history

Sorry Paul - I accidentally sent the name "Aselmo" on his memorial, so I have resubmitted it correctly and added the nick name he used.
Hi Paul & Sherida - haven't talked with you since before your happy union! I'm that history nut who used to live in Calaveras Co. about 30 years ago! Anyway - I love your old timer's stones, so have been researching their stories.
I hope if I send a short bio & edits, you will copy & paste some, because I only use official sources, such as military records, immigration, DC, etc.
I'm sending one now on Michael Acardo - have documented it all. - Cheers, Shirleen

I accepted your edits for William's memorial but as yet, some 15 minutes later, they haven't shown up, would you please resend.
