George Hyatt Nye. thank you for the photo of him on the memorial. I was thinking that only a relative would have such a great photo, but maybe it came out of a history written about him?

Are you a relative of his? I descend from Caleb Nye b. 1787, a brother to Elisha Nye b. 1782.

If you are a descendant it would be great to communicate.

You're very welcome. Not enough folks take the few seconds to give a simple "thanks"! Take care, Sarah

RE: John Maxim #106032236
The birth spelling as found in the Vital Records for Carver, MA (tan series of books published by the various towns in Massachusetts) takes precedent and is considered to be primary evidence over a tombstone record of death since it is considered to be secondary evidence and not primary evidence of a name. It only becomes primary when there is no other evidence that is primary.

Therefore, the name at birth, which was Muxam should be used. The Maxim spelling can be entered as a nickname if you wish to show both spellings.

This is the entry on page 47 of the above reference citation and it reads as follows:

John Muxam, ch. John (Muxham) and Martha, Jan. 24, 1795. [Muxham, C.R. 1.] [Maxim [h. Susannah (Pratt), h. Ellen (Pratt), h. Sarah P. (Mulford) Reed, h. Sarah (Custus) Lawrence] CG.R.4.}.]

This same spelling of the surname was applicable to the other 8 siblings of John, he being the last born.

75181643 Experience Peirce/Pierce
Hello Sandra, I too have an Experience Pierce in my tree. My 4th great grandmother was born in 1682 and married Samuel Wheaton. I find that our Experiences are being confused on the public trees on Ancestry, so did some research. Your Experience's maiden name is actually spelled Peirce, not Pierce, in the records. I searched for John Atwood, and for Experience, and found two of the hand written records that spelled it Peirce.
I'm suggesting that it would be helpful, and more accurate, to spell your lady as Experience Peirce.
Thank you. 46903791

# 64327126 Mark Mordecai Cochran
Hello Sandra Lennox
I see you posted a picture of M M Cochran.
Are you related to the Cochrans?
Mark's Grandparents Samuel Cochran and Ester John are my 5th great grandparents. Do you have the names of Mordecai Cochran's brothers? I have Thomas Cochran and Ann Wade They were my 4th great grandparents. Do you have any info on Ann Wade Birth Death etc? Thomas and Ann's daughter Susan Cochran was my 3rd great grandmother. Do you have your tree on ancestry and what is the name of it?

Thank you very much and happy new year.

RE: Francis X. King
Hi Sandy,

I have made the edits to Fran's page, thanks for the transfer.

Most of Fran & Gert's children have plots in that same area and will be buried there. There are a couple of other family members and friends there also that may or may not have Find A Grave pages. I will be happy to create these; William Hoey, Terry Murphy, Janet Taylor & Verna Taylor.
