|Descendant||RE: Marcus Martin Hollis at Melrose|
I appreciate your suggestions.
FYI; I extensively double-checked W/ Melrose under all possible family names. MMH'S 3rd wife was alive when he perished in the Pembroke woods (she later remarried.) MMH's body was sent back home. My Archivist pals suggest that I comb Melrose stone by stone, as his Obit & DC state burial in Melrose (1/3 mile away), albeit my reason for contacting you, as you seem to be doing so. My priority right now, is spending time at my recently departed beloved Mom's grave. Slowly, I have begun to visit other family's graves. I am familiar w/ all Plymouth Co. cemeteries, as a 13th generation MA native. I also am familiar w/ most Norfolk Co. cemeteries.
I was aware of MMH's 2nd wife's grave at Union in Holbrook (I also have lots of Ancestors there on both sides.)
Should some day, you happen upon MMH's gravestone, please let me know. I will let you know if I find it on my own.
In what capacity are you involved with brocktoncemeteryfriends (or whatever the Facebook page was.) If you have a non-public email which you are willing to share, please let me know. I do not know if you live in town.
Thank you for your response & suggestions. My Dad is quite curious as to your involvement in the community (he is 91 & a city native - he knows everyone!)
|Descendant||Marcus Martin Hollis at Melrose|
My parents & I have been looking for Marcus M. Hollis' grave for decades. Supposedly, he is buried at Melrose (per his DC & Obit.) I have been to the office, but there is no record there of his burial there or at Coweesett.
My next task would be to traverse the entire cemetery. However, it seems as if you have been photographing graves in the older sections that have not already posted on Find A Grave, etc.
If you ever come across his grave (he died 5 Dec. 1902 and was born in 1841), please let me know. He was my Great, Great-Grandfather.
I would appreciate it.

I just called and said that I had relatives buried out at Union and they gave me the info. I called the city if that helps. :)
