trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.|
Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and Washington State's Skagit County. I've been known to wander off to Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine given the opportunity.
Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find.
Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.
I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown or memorials whose placement in a cemetery is supposition (aka plops).
I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.
My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed... Click here to see the memorials I've added in the past few 7 days.

I am trying to confirm the identity of the Mary Bingham/wife of Jabez Bingham in memorial (71184231). I know you have transferred the memorial, but it looks like you did the original photo/transcription. The photo doesn't show the part of the engraving that shows the age, and I wondered how clear the engraving was/how confident you were of the 29. Sometimes if something isn't legible people will use additional information to try and interpret the number, which could be misleading. I know this was done way back in 2011, so I can't imagine you'll remember, but thought I'd ask to see if you have any insight.

The source for his death date to change to May 22, 1861 is: Vermont Vital Records 1760-1954 Family Search FHL film 27504 pg 690 State Capitol Building, Montpelier
It is a copy of his death record listing death date 22 May 1861 in Hartford, VT. Birthplace is Haverhill, Mass. Parents Joseph Chamberlin and Ruth.

Thank you for checking on Eulveen. I'll check with the town clerk to make sure she is buried with her husband.

I did find a record but since I do not know the area I am not sure if it will help you. I did look up the Dartmouth Cemetery but it's not clear to me where the record I found would be or if it belongs to the same person. I is below, I hope it helps. If not Mr. Isaac Cutting will be a mistery :D....

Maybe there is not a marker for him. I believe memorial #121886466 is his wife and Lucy is their daughter. Could be he is there next to them without a marker. Thank you for your help.
I just made a request to edit Rose Hilton. Her mother was Rosa so I am not sure which one it is. Rosa the mother was born 1868. And the daughter was born 1894 and died 1907. Rose's parents are Joseph Lewis Hilton and Rosa. It might be Rose the daughter, it looks like there is a date like 1907 on the headstone. Do whatever you think is best.

Thanks for the information, and the photos. I had not wanted to presume the relationships without supporting evidence.
I'm also transcribing the stones, as they are deteriorating. One line on Frederick's [Find A Grave Memorial# 174807755} --right above "died"-- is undecipherable to me. Any ideas? Thanks!
Thanks so much for your research...will note it on their memorial pages with your contributor's number.
Thanks for your speedy reply,

Sorry but I was unable to find vital record info for Horace d 1864 and Chauncey d 1866 as to their birth parents.
Please send me vital record proof for these links.
Thank you so much,
