I have been actively involved in genealogy for 30 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the hunt. |
In addition to my own family, I've added memorials for people that I am not related to. These are most likely in Kentucky and Indiana. If one of these memorials is for your family member and you would like a transfer, please be sure to state your family relationship when requesting the transfer.
I'm always happy to make any corrections or additions to memorials. Please click on the Edit tab on the memorial when making a request.

Thank you for your work on the family of John Clark Fields. He was a distant cousin, I thought I'd never find!

Thank you! And there is no hurry...whenever it is convenient is early enough!

I also am very interested in geneology and am trying to trace an ancestor of my husband's--Pharris/Faris/Pharies/? Powell from Scott County Kentucky who was born in 1849. One of the stones you posted is a possibility: https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=94565945
So, here is my question. I see there is something written at the bottom of the stone and wondered if it could cast some light on his survivors which might tell me if this is our guy. (Our Powell died when his only child was about 1 year old so if the inscription is related to that, it could provide the link I am looking for.) Is this a cemetary you visit on occasion? If so, would it be possible for you to see if you can read the inscription?

Yes, I knew of the brothers marrying sisters. Arena is the sister who helped raise my husband's great-grandfather when he was orphaned at a young age.

Thanks Sue, sometimes I just need a reminder. Getting old...

The obit we sent to you was only intended to give you evidence as to where we got the information beyond the 'Edit' tab. It was meant to offer additional info for August for you to insert in his memorial as you saw fit.

I understand you not transferring. How are you related to Jefferson Hillabold? My husband is a cousin to Jefferson's mother, through the Collins line.
