Adding folks and photographs to Find A Grave is an excellent addition to genealogical research which my husband and I have been doing for 45 years. Our current goal is to enter all the cemeteries of our township in southern Maine which consists of three large public cemeteries and 187 small private ones. These private grave sites can be very challenging as they are found along the country roads, out in the fields and off into the woods. You have to watch for rocks and rugged terrain, wild critters, ticks and, worst of all, poison ivy. But still, it is great fun and hopefully we are finding something invaluable to the descendants and reseachers looking for their families.|

Hello Mrs. Tucker...Thank you SO much for providing information on this relative. I appreciate your efforts very much!

Hi Lois..just wanted to say thank you for checking into the possibility of a headstone existing for Sumira Meserve 177487142. Since she does not have one I made note of it on her Memorial so others would know not to ask for a photo. I also added the location of the plot that you sent as well.
While looking thru for Sumiras sister Mary W. Brown Nason I found some duplicates ..very easy to do and wanted to let you know.
118843270 and 163396781
163396817 and 118843298
Thank you again for your time and trouble..Sincerely, Wendy

|Wendy Jenkinson||Jenkinson question|
I'm working on my husband's family tree and have a question about Memorial #176440537 (Isaac Jenkinson).
I noticed that his sons are listed on this large headstone in the photo (thank you for posting that picture, by the way) and then I noticed that they have smaller stones with either their names or their initials on them. Did Isaac and his wife Mary also have smaller stones or do they just have this larger stone? Please advise.
Just wondering how you know that Christopher was in the Revolutionary War and the French and Indian War as noted on the biography. I stopped in the Maine Genolological society in 2013 and they did not have a record of his service in the DAR. I don't know quite where to look for these records.
Christopher is my several greats grandfather!
Thanks, Sue Meyer campmother

Love that tin box! Sure don't make them like they used to, do they? Say hi to Maine for me. I've never lived there, but love to visit. Alice

Belated thanks for the transfer and accompanying email. Unmarried and not in a family plot (hence the misspelling), he was a notable inventor especially of the tamper-proof ballot box in use between Grant and FDR - unfindable had you not posted the memorial. Yes, Find-A-Grave is about photos - but so much more to make a single and forgotten interment such as this easily located by search engines. When I get a moment, I'll add transcripts of the "other" and more complete face of the monument - a beautiful and classic example of funerary design.
Appreciatively, Philip in NYC
