I enjoy all types of research, art, history, camping, children, genealogy, a good read, movies, family reunions, plays, bird watching, singing, cats , dogs, friends, writing, and oh yes, checking out cemeteries! When I was growing up a very large and old cemetery was up the hill behind my grandparent's house in the small Georgia town of Franklin. My cousin and I spent time reading and talking about the dates, names and inscriptions. I was always surprised to learn not one of the deceased was related to us. So where were our relatives? Now I know they were in the smaller cemeteries all out in Heard and Carroll Counties and beyond. While at Sunday church in the Glenloch Community, my grandfather told me that every person in attendance was related to me one way or another. It made me feel warm and fuzz. I just wish they could have sung a little better!
