Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my own family and volunteering for the Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society now for the past few years. I love wandering through cemeteries and will be willing to take photos of headstones in my town (or within 20 mi. or so) to help other researchers.

PLEASE ASK ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO TRANSFER A FRIEND OR RELATIVE. I ALMOST NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEM DOING THIS!

The following poem, which I wrote, has gotten a lot of attention lately from those wishing to share it with others. Please know that I would be honored if you did. You can use my name as author if you like.

THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
‘Tis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone

Find-a-Grave Friends: Due to several circumstances, I have been delayed at fulfilling transfer memorials and corrections/connections. I plan to begin working on these today to complete these as requested. Thank you all for your patience -- you have not been forgotten -- and although I won't be notifying you individually that the corrections are made, please rest assured that they will be done ASAP. I appreciate your patience! -- Jan

**************************************************ACCIDENTS SUCH AS DUPES HAPPEN, BUT *PLEASE* MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR AN EXISTING MEMORIAL FIRST BEFORE CREATING A NEW ONE! I HAVE HAD TO DELETE A NUMBER OF MY ORIGINAL MEMORIALS BECAUSE OF DUPES THAT WERE CREATED WITH MORE INFO OR PICS AT A LATER DATE. AS I HAVE STATED IN THE PAST, I WILL ALMOST ALWAYS TRANSFER MEMORIALS IF REQUESTED BUT PLEASE, AS A COURTESY, LOOK FOR AN ORIGINAL BEFORE DUPLICATING. THANKS!

John Mcleod
Jan,
Do you know any of John M. Mcleod's family that would have asked you to add his information on Find A Grave?

His family may be the link to finding my great grandmother's family.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Rhoda Paget Wallace
Well, this is maddening. I have caught Ancestry.com before saying that a record belongs to someone, but it turns out to be a child. I checked just now and found that this was the case and Rhoda was listed as Mother on the death certificate of Nancy Ann Carrico. So I removed the incorrect info off of my tree for Rhoda. I now do not know the death date of Rhoda.

This was my aunt. She married my dad's brother, Joe A Rookard #44489433. He remarried to Doris Jean after Aunt Ethel passed. Him and Ethel had 2 sons who are both still living. Hope this helps!
