Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a library media specialist at a public high school. During my studies as a graduate student I practiced my research skills by working on all branches of my family tree.

My surnames include but are not limited to Cottrell, Stipe, McPheeters, Nelson, Riechard, Hollenback, Jennings, Bucher/Booker, Campbell, Lemon, Robards, Roach, Riley, Laird, Spry, Farr, Lynn/Linn, Eaton, Ogden, Watkins, Cornelius, James, Cook, Hodgson/Hodson, Mackie, Pabst, Wright, Bowater, Underwood, Wells, Swanson, Willis, Hinish, Peck, Hovey, Wadsworth and Donahue.

Although I am not related by blood to the Tompkins or Lear families of Ralls County, Missouri I research these families in honor of my Great Aunt Mallie Pearl Tompkins Laird. There are no descendants for her husband, herself or any of her siblings. My goal is that her family not be forgotten. The surnames I work on for my Aunt Mallie's family are Tompkins, Lear, some Strode and some Maddox.

RE: Hello Cousin
It is located approx. 2.1 miles from the 61 over pass at LaGrange on rte c... Once on rte c... You drive past the rte P turn off about another 1/2 Mike it is in the right (North side of the road).. You will turn into a driveway to a white house.. Once you drive up the drive way before you turn to actually go to the house.. You can see the cemetery to the Northwest just a little ways.. Not a far walk.

Catherine Winder
Cemetery confirmed her burial and her location. She doesn't have a marker or an inscription on her husbands marker. Also I located a Jackson Winder buried in same plot as John and Catherine per cemetery records. Possibly their child? Jackson doesn't have a marker either. Hope this helps. ;)

RE: Helen A. Hiscock
Hello! Bitley Cemetery is actually a very nice little cemetery. It is in a little town called Branchport and is easy to get to, but not exactly easy to locate, if you aren't looking for it. If you use the F.A.G. app, believe it when it tells you the location, as it is just a little side road, marked rather indiscreetly. It is well maintained, but shows its age too. I think that, if you like cemeteries, you'll enjoy it. The grave is very easy to locate and in good shape. If you have any other requests in this area, you are welcome to let me know who and where and I will see what I can find for you before you get here. Any excuse to find a new cemetery is appreciated! :) I hope you have a great visit!

RE: Jeffries/Cottrell
Hi Heather....first of all, I live near Galveston not doable to meet at the nearest Starbucks to share info!

My ties to the Cottrells are thru my maternal great grandmother. Burton (elbert) Thomas Jeffries b 1876 Mo d 1955 Mo married Cyrilla "Rilla" Cottrell( b 1881 Mo d 1961 Mo). I don't know when they married but had 2 boys: Robert H b 1901 Mo and Samuel B b 1906 Mo d 1977 Mo (he marr Catherine V Nunn)

I think Rilla's parents were Wm S and Sarah Sallie Lemon. In 1910 Mo, Wm Cottrell(b 1843) was living with Rilla and Burt, and the 2 boys. I can follow them thru 1940. Have a copy of Rilla's death cert. (on line copy).

That is all I know. I am not going any further into Rilla's line because I am overloaded! with Jeffries stuff. If I can help with more specific dates etc, let me know. Do you know what happened to the 2 boys? I loose Robert after 1920 and Samuel has wife in the 1940s. One thing I am wondering: in the 1930 census, Samuel B as a Jr shows .....I cannot understand why he is a Jr.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Wm Grant
I think you are correct Wm is NOT AT THE BOTTOM the stone. I will have to go back and study it more carefully.

I will take the picture down on Find a Grave.

I recently probed for more stones and had no luck in the Grant or McDaniel section. They are just one row apart in the back center of the cemetery. There are obviously unmarked graves on either side of Phoebe McDaniel and in the line with Susan Grant and the Birgs.

RE: Elgin R. Jennings
If I remember right Elgin was cremated. His ashes are under the marker. I remember him. One of the Frankford "Jennings Clan" Funny guy, but one not to be messed with if you made an enemy of him. Kinda small in stature, wirey. Good man, but his smoking put him where he is now. My mother's sister married into the Jennings family when she married Ivan Dewey Jennings. He ran the Opry in Frankford for many years. He lives with Aunt Edna in Nashville, TN. now. He is in poor health as well; diabetes is doing him in.

RE: Woollen
Two Harbors is 26 miles East of Duluth. It is a lovely town. I work for the CN railroad that services both the Two Harbors Docks and the Duluth Docks, as well as the mines in Northern MN.

Old New London is just to the west of the on- ramp to HWY 19 from Hwy 61. There is a grove of trees just off the ramp with the power lines, DOT right of way, cable TV, telephone, and whatever else buried right through it. When they made the right of way for the power, they bulldozed the stones out of the way and laid them in the fence row. Some are visible from the on ramp, but you have to go slow and know where to look. It is disgraceful. I'll let you know how the campaign goes.

You must live near the Southern WI border?

Yes- I would be happy to post the full obituary. It would be no problem & may mean a lot to the family.

It's been nice to collaborate with you. :)
