I have been interested in genealogy since I was a teenager. My grandmother always said her husband, my grandfather, was from Norway. It wasn't until many years later that I realized she meant Norway, NY and that his family was actually German! While, I still haven't made much progress on the Wohler family line, I have been able to go back many generations on other lines (Preston, Hodge, Grower, Woods, Baker). Many times the information was found due to someone taking the time to make a cemetery transcription or cutting an article from an old newspaper. I work full-time and have two young children (they have made numerous trips to our local cemeteries!) so most of my research is local or on-line, so getting help through F-A-G is a tremendous help. I hope to help someone by getting some photos or adding the burial record that will help someone scale their brick wall.
I am not related to most of these memorials! I willingly transfer to reconnect them with their families.

Hi Melissa,
We respectfully request permission to use Fred's cemetery marker photo in our online tree with credit. Fred is Marie's cousin and the photo will make a great addition.

Thanks for your consideration.

Thank-you very much for posting the tombstone pictures of Albert & Carrie Theuerkauf, and of Otto & Villa Anderson. I live in Michigan, and don't think I will ever get out there to see them. I appreciate it so much.

Oak Hill memorials in Prospect View
Hi Melissa, just had to send some more edits for memorials in Prospect View cemetery with photos you took in Oak Hill cemetery. I have no idea how many duplicates there are now, could you figure it out and delete all those wrong memorials in Prospect View. The ones I found today some were transcribed by Marla Borders Jan. 1, 2016.
Thank you Ingrid.

Thanks very much for filling this request and for creating a memorial for his wife Helen. I wasn't sure she was there so having confirmation is great. I've submitted some edits to update her data.

Thanks again!

Daniel and Emily Steele Graves Markers
Dear Melissa,
Just got the email from Find-a-grave with the pictures of the Steele grave markers. Thank you so much for filling the request. You have no idea how much it means to me to get to see them. Daniel and Emily were my 2xs great grandparents.
I would like to someday make the trip (I live in Portsmouth, NH) to visit and see the village of Ilion. I know I must distant relatives still in the area. It would be interesting to see who I could find. I was told that the Steele plot is next to Eliphalet Remington, founder of Remington Arms. Is that true? Daniel worked for Remington and it is my understanding they were friends.
Thank you again for posting the pictures.

RE: Christopher Bellinger
I appreciate the offer, Melissa... I am also looking for Christopher Bellingerʻs wife, Anna L Harter Bellinger 1768-1830 and their son, Lawrence Bellinger 1800-1804. Find a Grave has them buried at the Old Herkimer Village Cemetery but I know that all the burials there were reinterred in 1897, mostly to Oak Hill Cemetery... as was Christopher. Are Anna and Lawrence at Oak Hill, too? Would love a photo of their gravestones as well as an update to their find a grave pages to reflect where they are actually buried. If you are able to research this and find the answer I would be most grateful. Anna is my 1st cousin 7X removed... distant but still family. I am a descendant of Michael Myers and Catherine Harter of Herkimer. Thank you so much for whatever help you can offer...

Best regards,
Lynda Puakea
