Margaret M. Find A Grave Memorial# 165122481

If you'd like to either transcribe the wedding announcement, or to provide a written reference so others can locate it, I'd be happy to include it in the memorial and credit you. I like to keep the photo area free for photos, though, and would prefer that xerox clips of newspaper articles not be posted there.

Thanks for your help and understanding

Charlotte (Pearl) Thompson
Thank you so much for the unexpected transfer of this memorial. I've been working on the Thompson family for years as part of a project to research the early families of Poultney, VT.

Re: George Okill Stuart
Very fine page and lot of info and nice pictures, I have a connection to George, not by blood but He is the person who recorded the reading of marriage banns for my 2nd great grandparents Philip Rice and Margaret Wallenser back in St George church in Dec of 1822. I have a copy of that ledger page to prove it. It is nice to be able to put a face on someone who had dealings with my 2nd great grandparents John and Margaret Rice who moved to Dundas County by 1835

The Soby Tree
I have recently begun the old ancestry search! So thankful for your research on Soby's!!! I have not found anything beyond David Soby who married Maria Getman in 1797 in Phila. Father was William and mother was Charity, but no last name for her. Family search does also list Maria's parents as the Anna and Johann that you have on her memorial # 79715427. My family legend was that Soby was originally Sobieski. I found a note on (which I have not even tried yet, just ancestry, family search and findagrave) that says that they also have the legend of being decended from Sobieski. Their legend is that 2 Sobieski brothers came over with Pulaski to fight in the revolutionary war. The writer comes from Mary Soby Vetterlein, one of William's 15 children, while I come from her brother James Patterson Soby. Anything else you may have on this mystery would be appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

have to process them right away, especially when the person making the request is polite and explains the relationship, or the request might get 'lost' and that would not be good.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Sarah Berrian Mead
I was pleasantly surprised to find your info re: the family of Sarah Berrian Mead. My branch of the Berrian family is through George Berrian and Catherine Barnes. My research continues George's family (through his son & Sarah's brother, Isaac Barnes Berrian)down through 2008. I am emailing to find out if you have a family connection to either the Meads or the Berrians.

Hello MacPherson! Thank you for the transfer of the Rodgers sons. I added bios for them. I also added a photo of Elizabeth's death cert, which confirms her birth date of 1845. However, supporting what you thought, all census records indicate she was two years younger than that. Beautiful photo of her -- thank you for sharing!

Soby Family of PA & NJ
I was amazed and delighted to find all the material you have posted on the Soby family, which I am researching for a close friend. Many thanks for all your work. However, you are missing two children of William Soby (1798-1892) and Lydia Lewis. There was a daughter Eliza (mislabelled as a male child in a couple of censuses)born about 1841. She was living with her parents until at least 1870. I have found no grave for her. Also, the Emeline Soby Williams, buried in Shawnee Cemetery, Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, whose listing you maintain was a daughter of William and Lydia. She appears in the family in the two 1850 censuses (one in Philadelphia, one in Beverly), and her death certificate gives her father's name as William Soby.
