RE: Mems. #165265375 & #165272196
John- Thank you for contacting me.
Cornelia- I am comfortable that the 1850 and 1860 Census establish her parentage. Regarding "Jane", I took that from various other Family Trees, so while logical, it is far from proven!
Rosa- Similarly, regarding her parentage, the 1850 C includes "Sarah R" and the 1860C includes "Rosa" both b. circa 1845 so I feel it is highly likely that both Rosa and Sarah are in her name. The 1900 C has her as Rosa living with a sister. Regarding her birth date, as you point out, that is all over the board. I went with a date I found on other Family Trees which was consistent with both the 1850 and 1860 Census. Of course, one could easily go with the 1900 Census altho I have found it to be the most unreliable. Similarly, I have found Obituary and Death Notice info to be highly unreliable especially relating to birth info when there appear to be no relatives living there. Regarding the name Roselle, I took it from other Family Trees so consider it highly unreliable.
I would be interested in your further thoughts, if any.
Regards
chet

Hello John,
Thank you for all the work that you are doing in Columbus, especially at Linwood Cemetery. That is great! I am descended from Laura Bedell Murphey's brother, who was Dr. Charles Wesley Bedell. He is my third great-grandfather. Interestingly enough, I am also directly descended from another one of Laura's siblings, Mary Bedell Johnston. She is my third great-grandmother. I don't know if am a "close enough " relative to Laura, (according to ancestry.com she is my fourth great aunt) but I'd love to help in any way I can. Please keep me posted and let me know if I can be of any assistance or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,
Joany

graves in area
I noticed that you are active in grave searching. and I cannot find the grave of Elizabeth Murphey Stokes Lowry, She lived on the Plantation called Spring Hill and died 1874. I know her son William Stokes is buried in Columbus area and her husband David Lowry at the Lowry cemetery in Jefferson Co. If you ever come across this name I would love to know. she would be the aunt of Simri R Murphey

thanks Charlotte Smith

I see the deed link I sent you was for Ed's son and his wife Mary. My apologies. I believe you are correct. There was a Mary Wohlwender but that was Ed Sr grand daughter. Thank you for pointing this out and making me look harder.

I appreciate it.

Ed and Mary were well known snowbirds in Fort Myers, Florida I am with the historical society.

He is listed as a widower in 1965 but in 1967, he and his wife Mary sold their property.

Click link to see the deed. I have researched the property recently and that is where I found Mary as his wife.

RE: Linwood Cemetery ~ Judge Williams
Thanks SO much John. I would have put the Colonel beside his wife but no matter, done is good. About Judge Williams, I just tried the descendent Barbara (Bell) Smith and got an immediate reply, perhaps you have her email wrong? She has two, home and work. I'll forward her reply to you at newsompage, please let me know how it works out.
