Bio and Links
Bio Photo I welcome corrections, updates, links, and additional information on my memorials.
Thanks to the photographers who go out in the cold and heat to get photographs of stones for us all. Findagrave couldn't exist without the 'boots on the ground' folks.

The lines I look for are Worsham and Moody on my mother's side, O'Quinn, Summers, Rentz and Kinard on my father's side.

I have added some grave photos. They aren't the best; please let me know if you have a better photo to post and I will gladly delete mine.

Tracey Huff
Julius Shanklin
I tried to send you an e-mail, but it got bounced back to me. My name is Tracey Huff. My husband is a grandson of Julius A. Shanklin who was born August 20, 1867 and died February 22, 1920. The reason I am writing is that it is stated on Find a Grave that he was buried in Pendleton Cemetery. He was actually buried in St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery in Pendleton, SC. The next time we go to the visit the cemetery (my husband's parents are also buried there), I will try to get pictures of the markers. Julius was also married prior to being married to my husband's grandmother (Rosa Scott Whitaker Shanklin) to a lady named Sue Conyers Pickens. He is buried next to his first wife.

I noticed that you are researching Kinards and Rentzs. I have Kinards in my line, and my cousin is married to a Rentz. These are all in the area of Charleston/Walterboro. Do you have family around those areas? If you would like to contact me, my e-mail address is t_huff@yahoo.com.

RE: Stella Gann Lewis Wardrup
If Sam Gann died in Texas, he should have a death certificate somewhere on line. He's listed on the Texas Death Index on Ancestry but doesn't seem to be in their database of Death Certificates. It's possible that one of his sons may have been the informant or there may be some other clue that would help deciding that that is indeed the Sam Gann we're looking for. Like I said, I couldn't find it but its got to be out there somewhere. Just a thought of a direction to look.

I looked and agree that it looks right but, like you, I couldn't find anything definitive. If you do come across something, let me know, the links can always be readded.

RE: Stella Gann Lewis Wardrup
I'm sorry, I am not related and have to admit I accepted what seemed to make sense in terms of Hubert's relationship to Sam. But now, in looking at it closer, I can see that there is no obvious evidence of their relationship. I have therefore deleted the link.

DS Calhoun
# 120334590 (Charlotte E Calhoun)
Anna:

Regarding the memorial for Charlotte, I am not certain that she is buried at Elmwood Cemetery. Her obit says services and burial at Siloam Church, which would have been closer to home and family at the time. Other members here have requested a photo of her marker, and the volunteer says he has looked for her grave more than once and cannot find it. Do you have any information that might clarify placing her at Elmwood? Thanks in advance.

# 117446865 Furtick
Calhoun Times obituary, 09 Mar. 1922, relates John A. Furtick's burial in St. Matthews at the Congaree Baptist Church cemetery. Could you make the switch and then transfer management to me?
Thanks again for all your help.
Monty
