Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired mechanic-truck driver (3516/3531) and a former Marine Veteran, May 1965-May 1971. Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Division, Vietnam DMZ 21 months May 1966-Feb 1968.
I try to take the most legible pictures I can. I believe in recording history for future generations. This is the best way I know to HONOR and Remember the deceased. I am adding memorials from books and graveyards so others can find their friends and family members.
If you would like some one transferred to you just ask. -(USE THE EDIT TAB)- on the memorial you want transfered. Glad to do links and I will add obituaries to BIO section also. (USE THE EDIT TAB!)
If I can help you with information let me know.

Semper Fidelis Sgt. Ed Elstan

Any pictures I have added you are welcome to use them for your personal use.

A GENTLE REMINDER....please DO NOT SCAN obituaries and post in photo section. Per Find A Grave guidelines, they need, instead, to be typed and submitted as an addition to the bio section with the names of the living removed. Thank you.

Jame Allison Boyd #10546247
Sgt. Elstan,

1st- Thank you for your service to our country. Your willingness to serve is greatly appreciated.

2nd- Thank you for taking an updated photo of James Allison Boyd #10546247 in Bethany UMC in Fayette County, Georgia. He was a 2nd cousin of mine. His death date had not been added to the tombstone when I was there several years ago to take photos. I wanted to let you know I am adding the new photo to my family history database. I don't know when I would be able to get back down there to take a new photo. So, again, thank you for taking it and thank you for giving permission to use the photo. I will. of course, give you credit for taking it.

Proud Daughter of a Vietnam Veteran
Thank you for your service in Vietnam!

I am the proud daughter of Chief Warrant Officer Thomas Aubrey Johnson, 1st Air Calvary A-229th, Vietnam June 1967 to June 1968. My daddy is now fully disabled, side effects of Agent Orange. He to has had to bury many of his friends from this era, several were his childhood friends. So I am truly sorry for your losses. I was a bartender at the Carrollton VFW several years ago, and I loved it! I really got to know the Veterans by sitting down with each and every one of them talking, laughing, listening and even crying with them. Unlike most children of a Vietnam Veteran, my daddy did talk about the war. So I am very passionate and outspoken when it comes to Vietnam Vets.

My daddy wrote a book titled "To the Limit" by Tom A. Johnson about his Vietnam War experiences as a helicopter pilot. It took him 10 years and countless rejections before it was published. (Internationally in hard cover and paperback.) His book has been part of a healing process for so many Veterans and we are so grateful for this.

Ms. Lyn Johnson

P.S. The book can be found on or my email address is on my profile page.

I am a long ago friend of Sarah Ellen Spangler Long and can give you a little Information about her but I do not have her obituary and do not believe there was one published giving personal details. Sarah was born in Atlanta Ga, to Major Paul and Dolly Ivey Spangler, she has one sister, Pauline Spangler. She married Calhoun A. Long, Jr. in December 1950 at Gordon Street Baptist Church, Atlanta, Ga. Sarah and Cal had three children, two of which are deceased, one son survives, Calhoun A. Long III, as well as Five Grandaughters and one Grandson. I am not sure where Sarah's Parents are buried but think it is very likely Westview in Atlanta. Thanks so much for entering Sarah and her Husband on Find A Grave.

I am a contributor on Find A Grave mostly for my own family.
