Thank you you Peggy. I have been doing a lot of genealogy work on my family and find being able to access the obituary has been very helpful. Your help is very much appreciated. Again, many thanks.

Paul Whitley #176542234
I'm not sure if I sent you this obituary for Paul Whitley. I was just going through some messages I had left for myself and when I reviewed Paul Whitley's grave site I did not see any of this information so I am just enclosing it for your information/use.

He spent his early years in Methuen before moving to Andover, where he graduated from Punchard High School in 1954. At Punchard High School he excelled in football, basketball, and track and was named the most outstanding athlete of his graduating class. He continued to play football while studying education at the University of Connecticut (Storrs) and was the outstanding fullback of the 1956-57 Yankee Conference Champions. He was later inducted into the Andover Punchard High Sports Hall of Fame. He was a proud graduate of UConn and later received his M.A. in Education from North Adams State College. Paul served in the U.S. Army after college and was a member of the Third Armored Division in both Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany.
Paul especially enjoyed his family, travel, teaching, and sports. His coaching and teaching career started at North Adams, MA and continued in Stoneham and Billerica, where he was a biology teacher and head coach of football and track teams. His abiding enthusiasm for sports led him to a career change when he became president of Whitland Fitness Corporation, which sold athletic equipment and manufactured high jump pits for meets large and small, from Madison Square Garden to local high school gymnasiums. His enjoyment of sports and his alma mater continued right up to watching the UConn Women’s basketball team win their historic 100th game in a row from his hospital bed.
As a youth he sang in the boys’ choir at Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence. He later became a lifelong member of Christ Church, Andover and served at various times as usher, vestryman, and building committee member. He also took great pleasure in travelling with his family. Camping and road trips across the country were complemented by sojourns to Europe, where he made lasting connections with friends and family, especially in Germany. - See more at: (from The Andover Townsman, Thursday, February 23, 2017)

Thanks for the Flowers
Hi Peggy,

I am Mary's son, and I was surprised my Mom has attracted this much attention so soon after her 3/18 passing. I also noted you posted the flowers on what would have been my Mom's 91st birthday. My Mom would have appreciated this. Thanks again.
