I'm a great grandson of subject who is in Shreveport's Greenwood Cemetery. You, apparently, posted a photo of John. Since I've never seen a photo of John, I'm interested in the source.

John Daniel Canfield
Hi. Just wanted to let you know that John Daniel Canfield in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery (Find A Grave Memorial# 33950333)was the son of Joseph Canfield and Martha Bullock. John E. Canfield and Martha Jones were the parents of John McKendree Canfield.

Thank you for your hard work.

This memorial is not William R Duncle. This is his 1st wife the sister to his 2nd wife who is my great grandmother. He & her sister are buried at Old PineHill Cemetery in Sicily Island, LA. My mother's cousin went to this cemetery when she was going to college and the only thing left of her wooden marker had "Wife of William R Duncle". She told me that cameras were far and few between back then so she didn't have one to take a picture. Would you please correct this. The dates are correct just not the name. Her name was Martha Ann Turner Duncle. I would love to be able to link William Rufus to both his wives and Martha's daughter to her. Thank you, Sincerely, Laura Jane Russell Sullivan

You created this memorial made out to an Abner Nelson and a Ms. Tracy placed a photo showing a stone with the letter A R N. I am wondering if the stone she found did not belong to someone else. The reason I am saying this is that I am looking for the grave site of Amos R. Nelson who was married to Sarah A S Willett Nelson (Find A Grave Memorial# 19859172) who is buried in the same cemetery. Can you tell me anything about your Abner Nelson?

Thank you

Charles H. Caldwell#1045105
I was wondering if you had any information about his family. I may be a descendent or long-lost cousin. My mother's maiden name was Caldwell. I'm having a hard time tracing the family. I thought maybe any information you had could help me rule in/out Charles.

Thank you for your time.

RE: M.B. Valentine #15421409
Thank you for the good information. I have learned what was thought to be M.B. Valentine on Newt Knights deserters roster was thought to be William Patrick Valentine. The information you shared shows he didn't permanently desert and later was captured and became a P.O.W. I do appreciate your response to my request.

RE: M.B. Valentine #15421409
Is that the same Unit Newt Knight fought at Corinth, MS.? His story was recently told in the Hollywood movie "Free State of Jones". M.B. Valentine is on the roster of Newt Knight's deserters from the Confederacy gang.
