Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have found many great photos of distant relatives and ancestors here, and felt that I can contribute photos that will help others, maybe find distant relatives.
I am particularly interested in descendants of Alexander Bowe or Bow of Middletown Connecticut, who settled there in 1660.
I live at the eastern edge of Cuyahoga County, Ohio (Cleveland)

Erastus & Margaret Bowe Family
David,

Recently discovered that I am related to this family as Margaret Bowe is my great-great aunt (her brother Nathaniel is my great-great grandfather). I am looking for information on her daughter Mary (born 1843). The last reference I could find for her was in the 1880 census. I am also looking for information on her grandson, Jesse Porter (born 1868 or 1869). The last reference I could find for him was in the 1880 census. Do you have any further information on either of these ancestors of mine?

And wow you can trace your ancestors back to 1660? That is really something. I usually can't get past the 1700's on my ancestors.

Thank you,
Lindy

Sarah Hall Blake Turner Mem. #25158454
Hello Dr. Bowe,
I am trying to connect the gens. of my Turner family back to the original Elder Edward Turner and Mary Sanford of Milford and Middletown, CT and I wonder if you have any sources you would share on Stephen Turner (1696-1780), son of Sarah Hall Blake Turner (1653-1726) & Edward Turner, Jr. (1664-1698)?

I descend from Stephen Turner and Hannah Doolittle (1700-1738), their son, Edward Turner (1734-1760) and possibly Mehitabel Bacon, his son, Stephen Turner (b.1757-?) and Elizabeth Ives b. ? Meriden, d.1805 and their daughter, Annah Turner, (1791-1849) and William James Trench (1789-1867).

I've been searching for a few years. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Regards,
Sally Davis

Hello Bruce's Cousin
Asa Bowe is Bruce Hewitt's 3rd Great Grandfather. Again where is your huge database maintained? Rootsweb?

We have information and pictures maintained on FamilySearch and Ancestry. We are working on a family book for his family, but more than willing to work with you.

*******************************************
Great to meet another Bowe cousin!
I have assembled a huge database of Alexander Bowe descendants.
I use familysearch.org a lot. I am not a subscriber to ancestry.com, but I have a Rootsweb account and a abbreviated tree online.
I'd like to connect you and Bruce, if you wouldn't mind sharing how you connect.
I know there is a way to share my tree, I'll try to remember how that works.

Mary Ann Gamlin Rice
Hello Again!

In awaiting your reply about the two communications previous, I see that my great grandmother, Lucian's wife, Mary Ann [Gamlin] Rice was also returned to Orwell, Ashtabula County for burial, death date of November 1925.
If you, or anyone, encounters her gravesite, please do let me know, as I am actively seeking both hers and Lucian Rice's, death date of March 1932.
Thank you, kindly. Awaiting your responses.

Namaste

Yale Rice
Would you also post the closeup of the monument that you have on Mary's file on Yale's file? Thanks again.

Yale Rice
Hi David,

Yale Rice is my great great grandfather, and I would very much like to tend his memorial, if you would be so kind as to transfer it. My line is through his first wife, who is in Fairview Cemetery, but I would be glad to tend Mary Bigelow Rice's, too.

I am also seeking my great grandfather's grave, Yale's son Lucian J. Rice, who died in 1932 in Highland Park IL, and was taken back to Orwell for interment, according to the obit.

Please let me know if you have or do run across it.

Thanks so much---please let me know.

Namaste

RE: Bethsheba Burr stone
Thank you, Dr Bowe, for posting the photograph. Hard to believe someone lived 100 years way back then, but there it is, written in stone. Ba(e)thsheba and her first husband, Joseph Foote, are my ancestors. I appreciate your work.
Sincerely

Connie
