Adding folks and photographs to Find A Grave is an excellent addition to genealogical research which my husband and I have been doing for 45 years. Our current goal is to enter all the cemeteries of our township in southern Maine which consists of three large public cemeteries and 187 small private ones. These private grave sites can be very challenging as they are found along the country roads, out in the fields and off into the woods. You have to watch for rocks and rugged terrain, wild critters, ticks and, worst of all, poison ivy. But still, it is great fun and hopefully we are finding something invaluable to the descendants and reseachers looking for their families.|

Love that tin box! Sure don't make them like they used to, do they? Say hi to Maine for me. I've never lived there, but love to visit. Alice

Belated thanks for the transfer and accompanying email. Unmarried and not in a family plot (hence the misspelling), he was a notable inventor especially of the tamper-proof ballot box in use between Grant and FDR - unfindable had you not posted the memorial. Yes, Find-A-Grave is about photos - but so much more to make a single and forgotten interment such as this easily located by search engines. When I get a moment, I'll add transcripts of the "other" and more complete face of the monument - a beautiful and classic example of funerary design.
Appreciatively, Philip in NYC

Thank you for adding the photo of the above
headstone. I am not that great with computers
but I can see his age as 68 years 7 months.
I can't read the days. Can you send me a
copy of the photo so I can enlarge it?
I believe,he was my husbands 3rd great grandfather.
And I would like to obtain a birth date.
I hope you will reply.

Your photos really enhance his memorial. Thanks for moving them.
He has a very interesting biography. FYI, I couldn't find anywhere in the FindaGrave guidelines where it says "findAgrave frowns upon lenghty articles or obituaries being added to the site..." The biography section is available for those biographies or biographical sketches from history books to be added. Naturally there is some obvious length limit. Those of us who are not paid Ancestry members, enjoy this free site where we can find and learn about our ancestors.

Could you, please move your fine gravestone photos from Memorial# 121185693, which is a duplicate and place them on the original Memorial# 64437641.
Thanks so much!
(I already sent a heads up to the duplicate's manager)
