RE: Georgia Bristol
Hi Ginger
My grandchildren are grown. I don't take photos much any more. My health is not as good as it was when I was rambling all over taken photos. I really miss it and miss Georgia every day. It's hard to believe she has been gone almost 2 years. She was really something and loved doing genealogy and posting on Findagrave.
I live in Granville Co. NC. What are some of the family's your are researching? Maybe I can be of some help. MY husband was born in Mecklenburg Co. Va. He is related to the Puryear's , Newton's.

Jeff M. Pennel is my wife's great-grandfather. His last name is with two Ls (that is why I could not find him on Find A Grave), he died in Granville County, North Carolina on 20 Nov 1946. His son Otis died in a car crash, he was know to haul moonshine during probation.
Jeff's son Vance Lean Pennell and Grandson Waverly Lee Pennell are buried in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Cheek Road, Durham, NC.

I am sorry, when I did not see that Jeff was attached to his father, I assumed he was not on Find A Grave. I am just now learning about the ins and outs of Find A Grave.

RE: Matilda Ann Hite Whitt
Union Mission Sunday School property is the name that is on my friends Real Estate Tax Statement.

The cemetery is located in Clarksville, VA, on Old National Highway in front of the Mecklenburg Power Station. The Sons of Confederate Veterans helped clean the cemetery in June but it will be an on going thing. The Rhodes and Whitt families lived on this land years ago. There are several stone there and many graves with out stones.

Matilda Ann Hite Whitt
Ginger, I know exactly where my great grandmother Matilda Ann Hite Whitt (1845-1920) is buried in Clarksville, Va. The cemetery has had several names over the years. My friend, the owner who pays taxes on the cemetery says it is listed as Union Mission Sunday School property.

RE: Bennet Puryear and Puryear family
Hi Ginger,

My direct line of Puryears comes from Jesse Puryear, son of Peter (b. circa 1715) and Susannah Puryear. He lived in central Virginia (Henrico?).

There are two other books on the family, "Puryear Kin and Kin to Kin," by Grace Hollis Puryear, and the other is "Ancestors and Descendants of Jesse Puryear and Jane Holman," by Mary Jeter Puryear.
I have a copy of the last book mentioned, the one by M.J. Puryear.
