Pamela Weirich
champion Turpin
Hi I am Pamela Weirich. My great grandmother was Nellie (Turpin)Reed. Her Father was Champion and had a full sister named Matilda. Her mother was Nancy Roberts. Apparently 2nd wife (last for sure) to champion. Champion died when my great grandma was 2years old. She had almost no information on her dad's family. I'm not sure you had that information. I would love any information you have.

Champion Turpin
Hello Robert
Would you please look at your memorial for James Turpin 41300972.

I believe his parents are Champion 146626806 and
Susannah 146626873 Turpin.

Even you state on Champions Turpin 42339441 memorial that he is the grandson of Champion 146626806.

Check James birth date on Champions memorial with the rest of his children - it fits.

I sent you the 1860 census information on James Turpin (on census spelled Trupine in Andrew County, Missouri) lists most of James and Marys children.

Thank you.

James Turpin
Hello Robert
1860 Census for Nodaway, Andrew County, Missouri
James (Turpin) spelled Trupine. Shows James is the father of Champion Turpin married to Jane Woolridge.
I will send an edit to link James to his son Champion.
Thank you.

Brooks Cemetery directions
These directions are from the Chariton County Cemetery Book written by May (Bartee)Couch Vol. 8 page 1.
Located in Chariton County, Missouri.
NW 1/4, Sec 4, TWP 54, Range 18.
Start at keytesville at the intersection of US highway 24 and MO State highway 5. Go North on 5 about 6 3/4 miles. Highway 5 starts a big curve West about 6 miles north of Keyesville. Go round the curve and down into the bottom.Just before reaching the first bridge a dirt road goes South. Go South on this road about 1/4 mile and the Brooks Cemetery is about 200 yards east of the road up on the hill in a grove of trees.
I took a photo of the cemetery from a distance. Brooks Cemetery is in the middle grove of trees. The 2 photos are on Find A Grave under Brooks Cemetery.

Wm R. Turner Brooks Cemetery
William R Turner
Is there any chance that this stone didn't read Turpin, instead of Turner?
Added by Robert Vance Turpin on Jul 11, 2012 10:40 AM
I did not find a cemetery stone for Wm Turner or a Turpin.
The Chariton County Cemetery Book by May (Bartee) Couch published in Nov 1982 Vol. 8 Pages 1&2 gives the following infomation on the Brooks Cemetery for Wm Turner. No Turpins listed.

William F. Turner
died July 19, 1859
Age 1 year 11 months 23 days

Susannah (Turpin) Brooks 43528560
Hi Robert
I just photographed the Brooks Cemetery, Keytesville Twp., Chariton County, Missouri.
As I was putting the stones on Find A Grave I noticed the stone of Susannah has her name spelled as Susan Ann.
I was wondering if you would mind changing the spelling?
I also have the Chariton County Cemetery Books by May (Bartee) Couch, she recorded the
Brooks Cemetery in November 1982, Vol 8. Recorded as

Susan Ann Brooks
May 9, 1824
March 13, 1865
Aged 40y 10m 1d
wife of A.G.

Thank you.
