I first became interested in genealogy when my grandmother, Rubye Mae Steele Brooks began to research the family tree and told me about the interesting things she was finding. This was before the internet, so she was doing a lot of travelling and letter writing. I started gathering stories from my other grandparents and eventually started seriously researching. My brother, Randy, (RTB) told me about Find A Grave and it was a beautiful extension of my genealogy research. I have come across others with a lot more information than I have and am grateful for all the people out there who are willing to put info and pictures from all the graveyards and memorial gardens around the country. Thank you all. If you would like to take ownership of any memorial I have submitted, just let me know. I have added many memorials just based on the fact that I have relatives in the same cemetery. I am pleased when I am contacted by someone who knew of or cared for a person for whom I have established a memorial. I hope they all are found by someone who cares.
