Bio

I work on Find A Grave because I believe we need to remember those who have gone before us. They are a part of us and have shaped our world and our lives. We need to preserve their memories for future generations.

I am dedicated to doing a good job so if you see any mistakes I have made or want to add additional information to a memorial I maintain please feel free to contact me.

I want the memorials I create and maintain to be correct and honest. I do not want to perpetuate incorrect information that may be found on some genealogical sites. I strive for accuracy. If you send me an edit please send me sources if it is something that cannot be verified by an obit, death certificate or census records. In the past I have added info to memorials from contributor suggestions only to be confronted by other contributors challenging the info. If I am unable to verify the info with a source I will add it under the bio section along with your contributor number.

Many of my memorials are for Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. PLEASE NOTE that Shippensburg is in two counties: Cumberland and Franklin. If a source states a person was born or died in Shippensburg but does not identify which county, I am unable to add Shippensburg to the place of birth/death field unless you can provide a street/road address.

Please also note there is a Southampton Township in Franklin County and a Southampton Township in Cumberland County.

If you would like me to retake a photo of a stone just ask. When I started Find A Grave, I had an older software that did not allow me to straighten or crop pictures.

I genuinely care about the memorials I create for Find A Grave and the people those memorials represent. It is not a numbers game to me. It is not my intention to amass a large quantity of memorials. My desire is to create accurate, lasting tributes and to be able to aid family members and loved ones now and in years to come who may be doing genealogical research.

* Note that all the above info in my bio is my own original thoughts and writing. I have not snagged it from anyone else's bio and taken credit for it. Please do not plagiarize my words.

We give them back to Thee, dear Lord, who gavest them to us; yet as Thou dost not lose them in giving, so we have not lost them by their return. Not as the world giveth, givest Thou, O Lover of Souls. What Thou gavest, Thou takest not away, for what is Thine is ours always if we are Thine. And Life is eternal and Love is immortal, and death is only an horizon, and an horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
