Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started doing genealogy back in the early 1980's, researching the Jewett (my mothers' maiden name) Family in the Wright County, Minnesota area. That was back before the computer, when it was door to door, phone calls, or US mail. I gathered 18 notebooks full of information and now am slowly getting that information listed on Ancestry.com.
I started back on my family research in February 2011 after retiring in January of that year.
Unfortunatly, most of the people I talked to back in the 1980's can now only be found on Find A Grave.
To any of you doing family research, I suggest you get to the oldest family members first and get as much information as you can before it is lost to time. Some of their stories (not always true) are interesting and more importantly, informative to your research.
Since starting back up this year, I have made some awesome discoveries thanks to the web. Lots of it I would have never found had it not been for the internet.
Find A Grave is an awesome site, people helping people. I can't say enough good things about it.
I live near the little town of Nimrod, Minnesota in Wadena County located in west central Minnesota. I used to travel the whole northeastern part of the state in my work and drove past many cemeteries, not ever knowing what I was missing out on. Maybe that's a good thing, I would have never got my work done!
To all of you who have helped me, I thank you sincerely and will do my best to help as many folks as I can in their research.
If you are interested in a transfer on any of the graves I have entered, I will gladly do a transfer as long as they aren't in my family line. It does not matter to me how distantly they are related to you, if they tie in to your lines somewhere down the road, I'll gladly transfer them.

Briefly, you have permission for reuse of my photographs only for non-commercial purposes, with attribution, in a manner and context that is not offensive. This permission does NOT include adding my photos to other record entries or locations. Please ask first
You may use them on Ancestry.com, please be nice and give credit.

PLEASE USE EDIT TAB ON MEMORIAL FOR REQUESTING TRANSFERS!!!

I am working on several cemeteries trying to fill in as much information as possible and trying to make as many links as possible. I therefore am sending out a lot of correction requests. If you don't want, or don't know how to make the corrections, please just transfer the memorial to me with a note you want it back and I will make the corrections and additions and transfer it back to you.

RE: Elvera Mills
You're very welcome, Jim. I didn't take a photo of her husband's side -the front- yet because I went in the late afternoon when the headstone was in mottled shade. I'll take his side next time I go back in the morning.

Lottie Wegner name edit
Hi
I got your edit to change her first name to Charlotte, but the death index and census records show her as Lottie so I wonder if people looking for her would be looking for Lottie or Charlotte. What are your thoughts?

Thanks
Leslie

Herman Jewell edit/Lyndon ctr, Vt
Hi Jim,

Just wanted to thank you for the info on Herman. I also wanted to let you know that I have added photos and linked him to his parents.
These are not family members, I merely photographed the cemetery, but I love being able to fill in the blanks.

Thanks again,
Anne

George Jewett(1956)
Hi Jim, Just thought I would let you know that he is buried in a part of Greenwood Cemetery that is non-endowed(meaning that no care of any type is given to those within it)
No mowing or trimming, no watering. Pine needles fall and cover over markers. Many are buried(under layers of needles and dirt).
I will ask for his location next time I am out there and will attempt to locate a marker for him.

Jim,

Please make any corrections to this person through Find A Grave, or send to me and I will make the corrections/additions as this is a relative and I prefer not to transfer at this time.

It is great that you knew the family. Please do add what you can.

Thank you for your work with Find A Grave and genealogy!

Uncle Wardell
Is a mythological person. He never existed. This story was published in a local paper in the late 19-teens, early 20s but it isn't true. The first burial was a baby named Carlton Keith Cressey in September 1853. There was a Joan Wardwell who died in 1858 but no
Uncle Wardell.
