Born 1959. Married, 6 children. Love history, cemetery art and gardening. I have been doing genealogy for 40+ years.

I am a historian. I document an event for future generations. I am not a "hawk" or a "vulture". I do not get paid for this, I do not gain anything from this. I do not wish to disrupt your grieving process. I do not do this to disrespect anyone.

I believe that after 3 or 4 generations, everyone is basically forgotten. Our graves sit there deteriorating without a care. I especially feel for childless couples or infants and children, they are forgotten sooner. I love this website, because generation after generation, our future family will be able to come here, and see our graves, and with a little love and care can see our faces also. Tracing our lineage will be so much easier for future generations.

I will post obits on memorials with proper citation. I know some people feel that this info is "private" or "personal" but.... it was PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
99% of the time this info is invaluable to genealogists. I have had cemeteries tell me they are private property and those interred there want privacy. If someone truly wants privacy, get cremated and scattered over the ocean, don't put up a huge headstone with your name, dates......

Anyone can find names and dates to enter, but to truly do the job correctly, the names, obits, dates and links should be complete. If you add an obit, it should be as it was printed.

My paternal grandparents were Wavie (nee Rench) & Jesse Botkin. She was the first schoolteacher in Atlanta. Jesse ran the store in town. I have a 2006 copy of the cemetery records. I will try to get the transcribed into Find A Grave.

I do my best to post accurately and respectfully.

I LOVE FINDAGRAVE. I love making corrections. I want my memorials to be as complete as possible. Bring on the additional information. I am on here every day.

I am researching my genealogy, surnames: Botkin, Tonelli, Rench, Redenbo, Kuhn, Chrisman, Reeves, Crutchley, Boggs, Borror, Leach, Studebaker, Mumper, Jones, Houghtling, Terenzoni, Bartoli, Luchini, Ceci, Kieken, Gbur, Davia, Eggert, Horn, Inman, Redenbo, Winter, Spadaro, Davis, Hester, Curl, Shepperd, Maury, Sasser, Humfleet, Sprinkel, Allen, Clark, Brown, Gilbert, Read/Reed, Weber, Hauser, Davies, Dyerhin, Hainlein, Bomher, Fitzpatrick, Halper, O'Connor, Keevil, Cunningham, just to name a few.
