I live in Fort Worth, Texas but I'm a native of Southeastern Oklahoma. |
My family are all Southerners. We started arriving in the Americas in the mid 1600s and always stayed south. As we moved west, we kept our Southern roots. So far, no Yankee in the soup yet.
I'm well traveled (Asia and Europe as well as in the USA) and even lived in Europe for four years (1980s).
I've taught high school in the FWISD of many years and as one of the ways to way to relax I research family.
I have been researching my family for 30 years and only recently discovered Find A Grave. I am delighted with this opportunity to not only find photos of my own family members, but also to help others. Fort Worth is loaded with very old cemeteries that I can explore for people.
Just let me know and I'll do what I can to help others find the markers of your deceased family members.
I'm adding memorials as I can. I'm doing this only so people can find their families. If you want me to transfer a family member's memorial, just let me know and I'll be happy to do so.

I am writing to let you know that the Find a Grave memorial (# 106659110) you link to for the "mother" of Malinda Jane "Linda" Harness Treadwell is incorrect. I don't know who Malinda Jane's mother was, but she wasn't the Rebecca Young who was married to John William Kyle in 1799. Rebecca Young and John William Kyle never divorced, as alleged in the memorial. They had two documented children after 1810 and are buried side-by-side in the Kyle - Brown Cemetery, Prospect, Giles County, Tennessee, memorials #33864080 and #33864042. Unfortunately, Richard Harness, who posted the incorrect information contained in memorial # 106659110 has disabled his messages, so I cannot contact him directly and this sort of error does not lend itself to the edit function. As a result, I was forced to post a correction to the memorial itself. That correction contains more information than I have put in this message. I have done a lot of research on the Young-Kyle family and will be happy to give you additional information.
|Ola Mae (Griffin) Trout||Remember U|
I remember u, Guess we are still both researching our families. I have found a lead on Mary Elizabeth Cotnam who married William Hogan. I know she died between 1889 and 1900 but not sure if in Ark or Okla. Working hard to contact a living person in her family. Will let you know when I do find out more. Ola Mae
|Ola Mae (Griffin) Trout||Thanks|
Thanks for adding flowers to my dad's memorial. (Ted Griffin) Do I know u? His daughter Ola Mae.
|Rebecca Ewing Peterson||McNary Cemetery & McNary Church Cemetery AZ|
I am trying to determine if these two cemeteries are one and the same, and can't find a local business to call. Would you look at the following description and see if it fits where you went to photograph the Cotnam graves: "From Hwy 260 turn south at mile marker 361, crossing a cattle guard and bearing left for 1/10 mile into a fenced area." The GPS for McNary Church is 34.07090 -109.84516 which you can plug into Google Maps and see on the satellite view. Thank you! -Rebecca
|CPR||Star Telegram obits|
I have a collection of the obits that appeared in the Star Telegram from Jan 1, 1999 to Jan 29, 2008. As you can imagine it is a large amount of data but would be willing to share it with you if you are interested.

I'll keep looking. I've photographed Sections 1-3 and half of 4. I'll finish 4 then do section 5, which is also called the potter's field.
You might write the Quitaque Cemetery Association, PO Box 185, Quitaque TX 79255 to see if they can help you.
