I was raised in Monrovia, Atchison County Kansas. I attended Monrovia Grade School, Atchison County Community High School in Effingham and graduated from Benedictine College. I have enjoyed a career as an art director/creative director in the Kansas City advertising community for over thirty years. My interest are Civil War history particularly the border war between Missouri and Kansas and the history of Monrovia and Atchison County Kansas.|
I am currently doing research on the Nottingham, Geiger, Parker, Yocum, Bradley and Ledington families.
I have a vested interest in the Monrovia cemetery as it overlooks and adjoins my family farm. My father served on the Monrovia cemetery board for many years and my younger brothers and I mowed that cemetery for most of our teenage years.

Thanks for the Bio info for Elizabeth Beck, #69702515. I have updated the memorial.
Hello Stephen, I am looking for grave of my grandmother Fannie Ledington Brock born 5/26/1870 Kansas City died 5/9/1914 Kansas City. She was the daughter of William K. Ledington and Susanna James and sibling of James Harvey, Monroe, Marguerite , Harry and Ida Ledington
|Suanne||Celia Pearce #105306658|
Celia Pearce (Pierce) is my 3 Great Grandmother. Thank you for the wonderful job you have done with her memorial. I would love to know the resource for the information you provided especially the time he lived in Kansas, the train wreck.
I am doing some family genealogy and have been unable to locate Celia or Abial's death records. I have found a photo copy of his Probate/Will on line.
Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Suanne Cushman Harns
PS. I am wondering why this info is not on Abial's Memorial as it pertains mostly to his ancestry.

Thank you for posting information about my great-grandfather and relatives. It has been a great help as I begin my own research adventure. I added information on his posting from an obituary.

Mr. Nottingham, I am the author of a website www.mkwe.com/home.htm dedicated to the memory of the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War regiment. You have posted a photo of the gravesite of one of the 16th OVI's soldiers, Benjamin Snyder, Find A Grave Memorial# 67583496. I am asking your permission to present that photo on my website in the Laid To Rest section. My website is 100% non-commercial and for the research and enjoyment of those interested in the 16th Ohio or Civil War in general. Please let me know if it is ok to use the photo. Also, thank you for your work in documenting and posting the gravesites of our ancestors!

Stephen -- thank you so much for all the Monrovia Cemetery postings you have provided! Charles James Hipple is my great grandfather, and Samuel/Emmalina Hipple are my gg-grandparents.
I live in the KC area and plan to go to Monrovia (and Effingham) within the next couple months to visit all the family grave sites.
|Lynne Malizia||use of photos|
You have some great photos in your Find A Grave contributions, some of my husband's distant families. Is it ok if I use these photos in my genealogy data?

It's been awhile. I see you've been busy. I'm working on cleaning moss off headstones at the Mount Cemetery & photographing them mostly for K-B (Kay). :)
Yes, about Aunt Lucy. Where did you come up with the information that Uncle Frank was her second husband? I'm checking with Frances. She's done the family tree for years. I know she was married to Frank & then Ira later. But if she was married b4 Frank, I have no knowledge of that. Frances will know for sure.
Another thing, do you know where the Yoakum Cemetery is? There's a lady who gave me longitude & latitude, wanting headstone photos of 2 Yoakum babies & according to the internet, it put me in the west side middle of the second to last lower section at Oak Hill Cemetery & I walked it and part of the lower & the baby section with no success. Altho, there are turned over headstones & some without names on their temporary plaques. So I notice some of your profile & thought you might know where it's at. Another said it's in Shannon Township. I'm not quite sure where that is. My husband will tho when I get back to it. Hope to hear from you. Thanks Stephen!

I am doing research for my 1/2 sisters mom and she is great granddaughter of Jack and Adaline Ashley Gore, of Grayson, KY, but you don't list her grandmother, Mitchell's sister, Myrtle Gore Stone nor the several other siblings who Adaline Ashley Gore is said to have had. Not sure if you just didn't know of them.
