I was raised in Monrovia, Atchison County Kansas. I attended Monrovia Grade School, Atchison County Community High School in Effingham and graduated from Benedictine College. I have enjoyed a career as an art director/creative director in the Kansas City advertising community for over thirty years. My interest are Civil War history particularly the border war between Missouri and Kansas and the history of Monrovia and Atchison County Kansas.|
I am currently doing research on the Nottingham, Geiger, Parker, Yocum, Bradley and Ledington families.
I have a vested interest in the Monrovia cemetery as it overlooks and adjoins my family farm. My father served on the Monrovia cemetery board for many years and my younger brothers and I mowed that cemetery for most of our teenage years.

|Oranje||Margaret McCoy Bradley|
Hello! In the course of researching my family I came upon this very sad story via newspapers.com. I have a connection to Margaret Kirley McSorley (she is buried at St. Benedict's at Find A Grave Memorial# 99018196). I believe Margaret is the sister of Bridget, Patrick and Owen Kirley all from Co. Louth and residing in Doniphan Co. Kansas. A descendent of Thomas McCoy (a brother of Margaret McCoy Bradley) and I have been working together on the Kirleys. From my research you and I have a couple facts in some conflict and I wondered if you could tell me how you reached your conclusions so I can correct my information.
1. I think Mary Kirley was Margaret McCoy Bradley's first cousin, not second. My information says Patrick Kirley (Mary's dad) and Bridget Kirley McCoy O'Grady (Margaret Bradley's mom) were siblings.
2. I think James McCoy and Margaret McCoy were full siblings- their parents were Cornelius McCoy and Bridget Kirley. Cornelius died and Bridget remarried Thomas O'Grady.
If you are interested in the family tree I have put together and the records I have, I would share them with you.

|Sarah Capps||Oliver Rice|
I was wondering if you were related to him and what you could tell me about him. I live in Granby MO and my paternal grandfather's name was Lewis Capps who was born in 1904. I have a photo of my grandpa and his younger brother who was born in 1909 and the 3rd boy looks to be about the same age of my grandpa. On the back of the picture it says "Oliver Rice"
|Kevin Landers||Samuel Liggatt|
Thank you for the updated information. Harold Robert McCubbin was my grandfather.
|Mike Beier||Update completed for Elizabeth Beck|

|Suanne||Celia Pearce #105306658|
Celia Pearce (Pierce) is my 3 Great Grandmother. Thank you for the wonderful job you have done with her memorial. I would love to know the resource for the information you provided especially the time he lived in Kansas, the train wreck.
I am doing some family genealogy and have been unable to locate Celia or Abial's death records. I have found a photo copy of his Probate/Will on line.
Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Suanne Cushman Harns
PS. I am wondering why this info is not on Abial's Memorial as it pertains mostly to his ancestry.
