I have been pursuing genealogy for about fifty years researching numerous lines in Texas and all other southern states. My Smith family was located in Stephen F. Austin's 2nd colony and 4th colony. My Dyches/Dykes/Dikes line was located in Zavalla's colony. |
If you find any mistakes, please advise and I will correct ASAP.
I've added certain memorials that I accidently took pictures of that are not my family or connection. If you find one, I would be more than happy to transfer them to you. Let me know. If I have added directs for you, I would be happy to transfer them no matter what generation if they are not directs for me.
The obits that I have been sending out are gems found in the old newspapers. Hope they add some background. Any picture that I have added to any memorial, you are welcome to copy.
Researching Whitmire, Dyches, Fish, Bennett, Smith, McWhorter, McClure, Ballew, Stribling, Farr, McGinty, Bowles.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD FAMILY PHOTOS, GRAVE PHOTOS, CEMETERY FHOTOS TO MY MEMORIALS BUT PLEASE do not ADD PICTURES OF DEATH RECORDS, WAR RECORDS OR OTHER RELATED GOVERNMENTAL RECORDS TO THE MEMORIALS. THIS INFORMATION BELONGS IN THE BIO SECTION.

Patty, Somehow i stumbled across your question about Mildred Cox' ashes. If you haven't resolved that yet I know how to reach some one who would know. Dorman Cox's daughter so let me know and I will ask her or put you two in touch.
Thanks for your genealogy work, It is a very important work.

If you know Ms Enloes
death date can you send it to me. Or can just place your message on her page.
|Singletree||RE: George Franklin Smith|
I will transfer mine.
My uncle Elvin Sherman married Clara Mae Smith, the daughter of Arthur & Pearl Smith.
Arthur is NOT the brother of Thomas Theodore Smith. Thomas is his father. But all attempts to correct it have failed.

Do you want me to transfer my page to you?
I think we should have only one memorial.

Re William Thompson - This is my 3rd GGrandfather.
Death is listed as "Unknown." Comments say he
died before 1867. I think we can narrow this down
a bit. Probate records from Polk County, January
21,1868 indicate that he died without leaving a
lawful will, and John J. Keys was appointed
administrator of the estate. John J. Keys was my
2nd GGrandfather, married to Margaret Thompson.

I was visiting my grandfather's gravesite today (Lemon Dee Sides) and noticed your photo of his site. I also noted you have done research on the Whitmire family. Eliza Jane Whitmire was Lemon Dee's mother. Do you happen to know the location of her gravesite?

Why do you think he is buried in the Albany Cemetery. I have not been able to find obit, memorial or any cemetery record? Thanks for the help.

I am so sorry. Don't remember posting it but thanks for the catch. It has been removed.
|Wayne Foster||RE: Elizabeth Deans|
Thank you for the offer but it is not my family. I am just helping a friend with her research. Wayne
