I love doing my family's genealogy. I am looking up Terry, Anderson, Greenlees, Greenlee, Huntley, Huntly Vunovich, Vujnovic Vujnovitch and I have learned a lot about gravestones. |
Please visit these Memorials:
CJ Meek, Tinker Nicholas Vunovich, Joel Anton Robinson and
Alex James Vunovich.

I have pictures for you how do I send them. I talked one of the landowners about the grave. Their house (as seen in google earth or from other sites) sites at the end of the road. The original home had 2 rooms they have made the home bigger...home from 1700's not the plantation owners home. Tree was removed, during this process they destroyed the grave site. I didn't know when I spoke to landowner (who said they would email what the headstone said...have not received). My husband and I were very upset in what they did to this historic grave. I have asked the county government about this issue. I know this wouldn't have been allowed if homes were going to be built on property. My husband thinks was a crept and not a headstone. The stone was 5-6ft long and laying on ground could not see writing since that part was on ground. As seen in photos coffin had to be damaged. They should have just cut down the tree I don't understand why they removed since they left the grave stones lay there. Deborah

Hi, Butterfly. I only discovered Payneville recently, and it is truly a ghost town. There are some people living out there, but no structures of a town -- no evidence that there ever was a town there, except a sign pointing to Payne Cemetery, but the only graves I found in it were not Paynes. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the family who is buried there. If I get the chance to go back there eventually, I'll try to record them, if they're not already in Find a Grave. There might be cemeteries on private land, but most driveways were padlocked with rusty locks, looking like no one had been out there in ages. If you descend from someone who lived and died there, though, I feel sure our ancestors knew each other. I descend from a brother of Ransom T. Payne, who founded the town. I haven't done a lot on the Paynes yet, but plan to, in time. Actually now that I think of it, I think there was a church out there. It's possible the records would be there, but I don't remember it's name. My only visit was a quick drive-through one day, so I didn't properly document it. Another time, I hope!

Hello, I don't live far from where you state Anna is buried and I need clarification on location of grave. On Annie Place road there are 3 homes located on old farmland. There is a left turn (dirt road) on this road that leads to some old farm buildings. As you make the left turn there are 3 trees on right side of dirt road. (as seen on google through Zillow. Am I in the right area?

Very sorry to hear of your families loss. My sincere condolences. Since my husband's line does not follow down to current generations, I do not have much info on them so I appreciate you sharing the news. Regards, Linne

|Velcro||RE: Huntley Family|
You are very welcome. I try to sponsor all of my direct ancestors, when they are not already being sponsored. It is my way of honoring those who came before us and made us what we are today. My husband is related to the Huntley family as follows: John & Jane Curtis, 9g grand parents; Aaron Sr & Mary Champion, 8g grandparents. Aaron Jr & Deborah DeWolfe are his 7g grand parents and their daughter, Deborah, married Solomon Gee Sr. Have not found any memorials for Aaron Jr or Deborah DeWolfe. Regards, Linne

Re: your request to delete Cindy's obit from flower section.
No problem - I deleted the obit. I only put it there b/c you said on your member page that you required birth and death certificates.
Have a great day - I LOVE your contributor name

|Jen Walston Harris Hill||LOL! Sorry! DAVIS!|
I'm working on cleaning BOTH DAVIS & ANDERSON on my tree since mom wanted me to print out stuff for her & her sister, in her late 90s, to chat about ;) I was wondering how Brooks Hall DAVIS is the Son of Chesley & Mary (Tate) DAVIS? since I don't see Brooks sister "Nacky" Pernecy/Pernica DAVIS PERKINS whose 1st born was named Brooks Davis PERKINS... Sorry I was working on the Andersons & correcting that when I 1st wrote! ;) THANK YOU For helping me out! Jen Hill
|Jen Walston Harris Hill||I THINK* I have some BIG Tree Changes to Make!|
