Keeping the memory and information about our family members "alive" should be our goal.|
Unless "we" make some major contribution in our lifetime, most of the information about us are known within our own family and after several generations, the information fades and then it is gone!
Thanks to Find A Grave for allowing us to share this information with each other now, and for future generations to use in their genealogy research.
November 2001: Since this is Find-A-Grave and I am still alive, I wanted to leave a message for current and future readers about "my" grave location. I have just purchased space for my mortal remains in an older community mausoleum.
Old Mission Mausoleum construction began in 1918 and completed in 1954 with the addition of the fourth and final unit. The construction resulted in a total expenditure of more than one million dollars. I have researched the history of this structure and its builder of 36 years. The information along with photos can be viewed at this link.
Eternity and Me!
September 2014: I find it hard to write something about myself, but since I am one of those persons who never made a major contribution to the world, I will leave a short review. I have been married to the same wonderful lady for 47 years. We have two great sons' Todd and Brett, and one fabulous grandson, Tyler. My working life was spent with the Wichita Public School system (1965-1996), first as a secondary science teacher and then as a secondary building administrator. My wife and I now spend our time traveling, taking care of our grandson, and just enjoying our leisure time. Good luck in your research with your family history, and again thank you to Find-A-Grave for allowing contributions to this enterprise.
May 2009: I have just received word from the United States Department of the Interior, that my application to have the Old Mission Mausoleum placed on the National Register of Historic Places has been approved!

Just wanted to say thank you for the information on Edward and Margaret Davis, Edward was my 9th cousin 7x's removed.
I just took a picture of Phillip Shadoin's grave today at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Corvallis, Oregon. We noticed some other Shadoins. They are not right next to Phillip's grave, but in the same vicinity. Thought I'd let you know just in case they're related!
Fred H Shadoin (b. 1874 d. 1947)
Beatrice L. Shadoin (b. 1880 d. 1939)
Stella Shadoin Cumming (b. 1910 d. 1985)
I have pictures of their gravestones if you would like them.

Thank you very much for making all the corrections you could.
I have written to the person who manages Sarah Huffer's memorial & hopefully they will correct it. (I didn't realize when I wrote my previous messages that you weren't the one managing them.)

Mr. Stuart, Thank you for adding my nephew to find a grave. I never thought my family would have to go through the loss of a baby. I was a student at Jardine Middle School when you were the vice principal there. Again Thank You for adding him.

I am tracing my ancestors and when I traced Glennie Robinson I have her maiden name as Doyle. Daughter of Frank & Dora Jane (Brown) Doyle. She was born in Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio. Glennie was married to Wm. C. Robinson, Jr. She was born 2 Jul 1881. She had 7 children but only 2 survived. Could you possibly have the maiden name incorrect. The information I have matches the Social Security information on Ancestry.com. Would appreciate any information you help me with. Thanks
