Check the edits. I added all the details.
|Beachcomber||PVT John "George" Boitano|
I found George Boitano's birth date
August 19th 1919 Ballard WA died Christmas Day 1944 near Bastogne, Belgium. It is odd that the family had to two sons named John Joseph Boitano 1923-2004 and John George Boitano 1919-1944.
His Army serial number is 39217066 he is
listed in the Washington WWII war dead as PVT KIA, I can't find anything else on him. According to his younger brother John's personal narrative dictated before 2004 George's mother was totally distraught about his death and couldn't except it. She died less that 2 years later at age 55.
Not sure if George is actually buried with parents or if it is a cenotaph. It is possible he was buried in Belgium or France. If you like you can add this information to his memorial. There isn't much on George. But I know he gave his life for our country and is a hero in my eyes. Thanks Doug in Tacoma
PS turns out my friend George M. was named after him by his mother Gloria Boitano, Georges Boitano's little sister.

George died Christmas day during the Battle of the Bulge. His younger brother John Boitano gave a fasinating interview about Ballard in the 1930's

Robert, Hi! I am related to Hazel McDaniels. I was wondering if there was two Hazel McDaniels in
Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park in
Seattle? I see the photo of your copy, Hzazel McDaniels, 1921-1968. When I called the cemetery they gave me info on a Hazel McDaniels, who died July 5, 1988 and was buried July 15, 1988. They said she was the spouse of James Paul Walker. Can you help me at all on this.
|Diggin for one||Evelyn Conway|
