Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired from the Army of 21 years and I love to study and visit Civil / Revolutionary War Battlefields and visit the generals grave sites who served during those periods. Thanks to Find a Grave I am able to plan my trips accordingly. As the National Chaplain for the Disabled American Veterans 1.2 million member organization, I like helping those who cannot visit their family members in person by taking pictures for them in the area in which I live. I post veteran memorials on Find a Grave to pay tribute to their service, a way of honoring them for the sacrifice made to this country. If you have more information to post to a memorial I have created, send it to me and I'll add it or I'll transfer the memorial page. Photos taken by me for Find a Grave may be considered public domain and you are most welcome to use them.

Would you be so kind as to add this note to John D. Caraway's memorial? Thanks.

Served in Confederate Army, Company I, 32nd Georgia Battalion Woodson Guards, Muster Roll 7 May 1862. Received Southern Cross of Honor (this medal was conceived in 1898, to commemorate all those who fought and earned medals in battle but never received them. See webpage for more information)

Jefferson Franklin Long
Do you know anymore history? I am a decedent of Jefferson Franklin long, my father told me his Grandfather said he was his great great grandfather but did not have much information. My father looks exactly like Jefferson Franklin Long.

Herman Ray
Hi Michael,

Herman Ray #24761220 was my grandmothers brother, my great uncle. I am researching the Ray family and keep coming up with facts to add to Herman and his 8 siblings.

If you would like to transfer management of his site to me I would be honored to maintain it. As you already know, he was a WW1 veteran and I hope to have details of his active duty added soon as well as his younger brother who died on active duty in WW1.

Thanks,
Mike Caldwell

John W Holt
Find a Grave #140724541 for John W Holt contains some incorrect information. The US was not involved in WWI until 1917. The correct information is he was born on 7/21/1890 and died on 7/12/1918. He was KIA in the Argonne Forest.

Thank You,
Chris Allen
(cousin of John W Holt)

Pinevlle Baptist in Marion County Ga
We need some information regarding Pineville Baptist. A deserted church located close to the cemetery. We could also use some information about Pineville itself. Nice job on the cemetery. Full of good information. https://www.google.com/maps/place/32%C2%B015'12.9%22N+84%C2%B036'49.8%22W/@32.2537741,-84.6111229,3a,25y,215.04h,87t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1su4SBE9ctHZwyZoY-HR2zwQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d32.25359!4d-84.61382

We are Historic Rural Churches of Georgia and we would like to document the old church while we still can. Almost no history available. Can you help?

Thomas Dixon Ferguson photo
Hi Michael Dover,

Thank you for creating the memorial for Thomas Dixon Ferguson plus taking and posting photos of his grave marker. Since you transferred his memorial to me, I have added a better scan of the photo of him without white showing. Please remove the one you added for me on 12/14/2012 on the second page of the photos. His memorial number is 24761315.

Much appreciation for your time and effort.
