This is a poem that I stumbled upon (author unknown):

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you one will ever know.

I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I've lived in FL, NY, CA, WA, and OR.

I found Find A Grave by accident. It has become one of my favorite sites to visit. It has given me a place that I can remember my mother and my sister Sandy and honor their memory right from my desk. Thank you Find A Grave.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.

But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

Isabella Urquhart Bigelow

I was just wondering if you were related to Isabella (Urquhart) Bigelow? I noticed you'd added flowers to her memorial.

Abraham Ingalls and family
I am searching for anyone who might know about Thomas B. Ingalls #17226887 - I believe he was the son of Abraham Ingalls.

Thomas B. Ingalls married Martha Victoria Thomas #17226896. She is buried elsewhere. But, her mother is buried in Border Plains Cemetery.

Elizabeth A. Smith #16205779 (Mrs. G W Smith) was my 2nd great grandmother. She was previously married to Stephen M. Whitbeck. They can be found in 1860 in NJ, and in 1870 in Fort Dodge, Webster Co IA. I am confident Elizabeth UNKNOWN was the mother of Martha Victoria Thomas, and suspect Stephen M. Whitbeck was the father.

But I am stymied. I hope someone might have more information on Elizabeth and her origins. Please respond to Thank you so much. Pj Sisseck, Dallesport WA

Hi Neil, stopping by to let you know that sadly, CHERRY passed away December 23, 2016, [since you were on her MSG board.] and I did not know if you knee of this. Cherry loved 'flowering' and I know she would appreciate a 'flower' of remembrance from you.

Warm regards to you & yours & hoping to see your name & tribute on Cherry's memorial [at your convenience].

Thanking you in advance for your kindness as always & you may pass this info along, if you wish.

Where's George?
Neil...I have one of those very interesting "Where's George?" dollar bills. The serial number is D 50815984 B, Series 2009. I received it as change from a grocery purchase several years ago and I've kept it pinned to a bulletin board near my computer center ever since. I have entered the serial number at the website.

Best regards,

photo request
Is it possible your Frank O'Connor photo request could be a Frank O'Donnell? The Bayview cemetery records do not show an O'Connor named Frank, nor any O'Connors who died in 1974. Here's the Frank O'Donnell info:
O'Donnell, Frank P SECTION 20, Lot 79, Grave 2-A CASKETů 4517 10/31/1974 .
I couldn't find your Frank O'Connor's record at the online list for Bayview
