Bio and Links
Bio Photo I feel this site is a great way to SHARE with others and provided family history for our future generations. I am sorry to say that there are some folks out there that have turned this into a competition of who has added the most or who controls the most memorials. I don't want to come off like that!! So please, if there is a family memorial I have created that you would like transferred to you PLEASE let me know. I only want to manage my family memorials. I don't mind if someone has control of a family member of mine as long as they are willing to work with me to correct or link or add to the memorial. I would like to say thank you to those contributors that are in this for the same reason as myself, to share, help others and keep our loved ones memories alive. May God Bless you All!!!

Don Bowling
Asher/Vandy Cemetery

My name is Don Bowling and I have been researching my family tree on Ancestry. In particular, I recently was directed to the Find a Grave website in the Asher/Vandy cemetery for Victor Herbert Bowling who died at 3 weeks old.
Victor was the first born son of William Robert Bowling (my grandfather) and Cora Belle (Johnson) Bowling (my grandmother). It turns out that Cora's mother (my great grandmother) was Mary Jane Asher (1866-1912) who is also buried in Asher/Vandy Cemetery along with six other members of the Asher family. Mary Jane is the sister of Lucy B (Asher) who I believe is also the mother of George Bert Vandeventer, who's reference in Asher/Vandy Cemetery let me to you. There is also another Bowling - Vandeventer connection, in that my great grandfather (Hugh White Bowling) 2nd wife was Mary Jane Vandeventer (1860 -1920).

My dad (a brother to Victor Herbert Bowling) is still alive (will be 92 this year). He never met his grandmother Mary Jane Asher or any of the other Asher family members. I would like very much to take him to the Asher/Vandy Cemetery. The address is listed as Old Way Road in Laurel County KY. I have looked on Google Earth Maps and found Old Way School Road, but not sure this is the right road. Could you provide better directions to the Asher/Vandy cemetery or a point of contact for the cemetery by return email.

Would you have any photos of the Asher of Vandeventer family members?

Elizabeth Filkins
Arie Family
Hello Janice! Researching some of my unknown family heritage I found you posted a photo of my great great grandfather Joe Arie and his wife Helen. My dad's family has been a bit of a mystery and you've given me some hope! Do you have any more photos or Arie Family history you could share? I would greatly appreciate it.

the member number you sent me for Elsie West 2210314 doesn't match - 22103314 matches someone else - whose memorial shows Elsie West as her daughter

Do you know what happen to other tombstone that was on Willie grave? I bought one back in 2008 through Van Zandt Genealogy Society as I did with the rest of the family that didnít have one.

RE: Find A Grave photos
Thank you.

Who is your Vandeventer line? My grandmother was Rena Vandeventer, daughter of Charles Rush Vandeventer, son of William Davidson Vandeventer.

Find A Grave photos

First I want to thank you for your time and effort in taking and uploading photos to the website. I would like to ask your permission to save the photos to my computer system that you took for for my personal genealogy research and possibly making a book for family members to enjoy. I will give credit to your work. Will you permit me to do that? My ancestorís name is: Elizabeth (Yeary) Vandeventer and she is buried in Lee County, Virginia

I really appreciate this,

Linda Rogers

John Burke/John Burton Mosley
Can you please review your links between John Burke Mosley (12577730) and parents John Wesley Mosley (13516671) and Sallie Jane Veal (13516675).

The John Burke I find born in El Paso matches to William A & Ethel Burke Mosley. (Reference - Texas Birth Certificates 1903-1935:

The John I have linked to John Wesley & Sallie Jane is John Burton Mosley (127566201) born in Van Zandt County in 1904. This would match up to the right place when looking at his siblings' births. He passed away in CA in 1981 & is buried next to his wife (Ida Mae Huddleston) and son (Raymond Earl).

John Burton is my husband's paternal GGrandfather. His maternal Grandmother confirms his death occurred in the early 80s.

I am a great great grandson of Kellogg and Louisa (Vandeventer) Munsey and saw you posted a pic of Louisa on her memorial. Was wondering if you know of any more pics of them or their kids exist. Thanks, David Farmer
