"It seems to me that the earth may be borrowed but not bought. It may be used but not owned. It gives itself in response to love and tending.... But we are tenants and not possessors, lovers and not masters. The Planet belongs to the wind and the rain, to the sun and the seasons, to the cosmic secrecy of seed, and beyond all, to time."|
My mother passed away in 1999 and I was the recipient of boxes and boxes of old photographs and memorabilia from courageous departed ancestors who emigrated here and my interest in genealogy began. Now, with the help of Find A Grave, I have been able to locate many family members' graves. Thanks for helping fill in the blanks. And now that I have become a volunteer, I hope to pay it forward.

Re; Elizabeth Rand
I am wondering are you related to us in some way,
as I keep seeing your name on ancestors of my
Husband. What can you tell me about this Elizabeth?
I have found one of my husband's Grandmother's
was Elizabeth married to Robert Rand Sr.
I am sorry to keep bothering you but I am looking
into the Robert Rands in Ken's family.
If its not too much bother,I hope you will reply,

Thank you for entering a memorial for Rovbert Rand.
He was one of my husband's Great Grandfathers.
In reading the memorial, I found there is very interesting information in both. Would it be possible to merge both, so the next person get
the benefit of all the information?

The photo on this memorial is of the cemetery. A great photo but not of the grave as it is posted. Could you please resubmit the photo as a cemetery photo?
It would be very helpful and appreciated.
PS. also his wife # 38060052

I try to sponsor all of my direct ancestors, when they are not already being sponsored. It is my way of honoring those who came before us and made us what we are today. I would be happy to take on the maintenance of John & Lydia's memorials. Thank you for offering. Regards, Linne

Hi Charlene, Hannah Holden Cutter's will was probated on 2 Sept. 1800; she died in Aug 1800, not 1801. I have not requested an "edit" on the site but hope you will make the change onh er memorial. She was one of my (tons of) 6th great aunts.
I have to say I love your brief bio. for her - indeed, Seabrook NH was the Gretna Green of New England!
I aso love your explanation of how you got "genealogial" - it is the same as mine. Mom died in 2008 and I have been a family history addict since then. Who knew? I (sadly) ignored her all those years when she tried to tell me the family stories. What a waste and such a common experience. In honor of her, I began (reluctantly at first) the amazing and revelatory task of making the family tree. Judy

Hi Charlene, I intended to "friend" you, but there are several listed with your name. I don't want to get the wrong one. Try to "friend me" That may work better.
Have you ever traveled the route Sherman took on the march to the sea?? That's on my bucket list.

May I use the grave marker photo that you contributed to the Find A Grave memorial for George Bassett, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration. Deanna French
