From the Arkansas Delta |
I've been an active genealogist for 30+ years. I'm currently researching the surnames Lunsford, Linville, Norris, Ferguson, Meador, Cole, Williams, Tully, Byrn, Greenhaw, Yates, and Morelock.
I'm an avid cemetery transcriptionist simply because I believe everyone deserves to be remembered.
I don't post graves simply for the number of memorials I can stack up. I strive for accuracy, and in particular, finding unmarked graves. If someone is related to any of these memorials, just let me know. I will gladly transfer your family members.
"Show me your cemeteries, and I will tell you what kind of people you have." --- Benjamin Franklin, 1706-1790
"I have walked the land in the footsteps of my fathers. Back in time to where the first one trod; and stopped, saw sky, felt wind, bent to touch Mother Earth... and called this 'Home'."

|Felicia W||Keiser, Arkansas cemetery?|
I see you are from the Arkansas Delta, which is where my family is from. Most of them still reside there. We visit yearly and I take the opportunity to photograph the cemeteries in the area.
I was double checking today to see if I've missed posting any photographs and I noticed your biography for Jimmy Fencher Ferguson. You mentioned that the cemetery was "Garden Point near Keiser". I'm not aware of any other Garden Point in the area either. Keiser isn't too far, but near Etowah would have made more sense.
But here's my question for you - are you aware of any cemetery near Keiser? My great grand parents and their infant son were buried "at Keiser", and the family says that the cemetery was plowed under for field years ago. Raised in West Ridge and residing in Lepanto, Etowah and Manila, I don't doubt their memories, but unfortunately the cemetery has been gone so long, with their age they've all admitted they'd never be able to locate where it was. The folks at the Keiser City Hall don't have records nor memories of the cemetery, and the Historical Society at Osceola have no records either.
I know it may be a long shot, but I just thought I'd ask if you've run across anything in your research or perhaps any family in the area with any insight? I know my family can't be the only ones buried there, I have just have not run across anyone who remembers the cemetery.
Thanks for your time & have a great day!
|E.K. Myers||Blan Cole|
I just started researching my biological Mothers side of the family. According to my grandmothers birth certificate--Gloria Jean Cole B:09/28/1928), Blan Clavern Cole would be my great-grandfather; Gladys Mckiney (great-grandmother). Horase Earl Cole was was witness to the document my brother has; Earl Cole (married to Lena Cole) and is the half brother of my grandmother or her Mother? Would you have any information on Blan Cole and Gladys Mckiney? Or Gloria Cole Champion--his daughter (my grandmother)?
Thank you so much! Any information is much appreciated!

|Mindy Thompson||Wrong year of death|
Would it be possible to have the year of death changed to what is written on the headstone?
Headstone reads: 1885 and his Find A Grave is written 1895.

|Melissa Cassidy||RE: Eva Ellen Simpson|
I'm sorry for the confusion. I should have said that Eva Ellen Simpson was the wife of Sam Jones Griffin. Eva Ellen Simpson Griffin was the mother of Glenn Vee Griffin, Mildred Faye Griffin Webb, John Wayne Griffin, and Eva Joyce Griffin Stepp.
I hope that this information can be corrected.
Can the find a grave memorials for Sam Jones Griffin and Eva Ellen Simpson Griffin be transferred to me since they are my paternal grandparents? Glenn Vee Griffin was my father.
|Melissa Cassidy||Wrong information about Eva Ellen Simpson Griffin|
My name is Melissa Cassidy. I am a member of find a grave.
I looked on my grandmothers find a grave page (Eva Ellen Simpson Griffin) and her parents and siblings were recorded incorrectly. I sent a request to have this corrected but was declined for some reason. ????
Can you help me get this corrected. ( on another problem, on my father's grave, I requested to have a duplicate photo deleted, and it was corrected. Thank you.)
This is the correct information regarding Eva Ellen Simpson...
Father - Chester Field Simpson (born October 24, 1867 died October 4, 1938)
Ida Mae Stout
(born February 10, 1876 died May 2, 1958).
They are both buried at the Gibson Bayou Cemetery, Earle, AR.
Eva Ellen Simpson Griffins siblings are listed incorrectly also as is the 1910 census information on Eva's memorial.
This is how it should read:
Chester Field was born in and Ida Mae Stout Simpson had four sons and four daughters. The family was enumerated on the US Census in Carroll County in 1900 and 1910. They later moved to Panola County, Mississippi and are shown on the 1920 US Census there.
Wife of Sam Jones Griffin.
Mother of Glenn Vee Griffin, Mildred Faye Griffin Webb, John Wayne Griffin, and Eva Joyce
Robert William Simpson
Inez Simpson (died in infancy)
Otis Field Simpson
Elizabeth "Libby" Simpson Samuels
Ruby Simpson Lewis
Thank you if you can help with these corrections.
I am not sure who put the wrong information on the page, but I would appreciate it if it could be corrected.
