Bio Photo I'm a native of Virginia and graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. My career brought me from Richmond to Atlanta in the 1980s and Georgia was my home for over 30 years until 2016. I now live in Clearwater, Florida.

I became interested in and my family genealogy after my mother passed away in 2010. She was a proud native of South Georgia. I've posted many photos of my mother, family and friends so their memory will live on.

Memories keep those that we've loved near to us. It provides us the opportunity to recollect the events, experiences, every hug, kiss, loving words of support, encouragement and wisdom.

"To live in the hearts of those left behind
is not to die."

Tony Snow, former White House press secretary said this before his death from cancer:

"Remember that we were born not into death, but into life—and that the journey continues after we have finished our days on this earth. We accept this on faith, but that faith is nourished by a conviction that stirs even within many non-believing hearts—an intuition that the gift of life, once given, cannot be taken away".

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Oak Hill Cemetery
Hi Tim, May I have your permission to use the photo you took of the cemetery in which my cousin is buried in my family tree? I really appreciate the hard work you have done for me and others like me who cannot. These photos, which I use in the Death and Burial section of my relative's profile page (not the profile photo) add a lot to otherwise barren pages of forms and statistics.

Thank you so much,

your Hollywood Forever pictures
Thanks for captioning your photos. I wish everybody did that, at least the cemetery pix. I know I've got to do better at that, too!

Thanks so much for all of the excellent photos of Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond. I went to school there too in the '70s but only recently found that my G4-grandparents were from Louisa and Goochland counties. I need to go back to research my family tree and your pics have put this cemetery on my bucket list too.

I noticed a map request of the cemetery here. I have been asking Findagrave to add cemetery maps to each cemetery to help families locate grave sites. They have only added street maps so far.

If you have a chance, please send your cemetery map picture to and ask them to add it to the cemetery page. It's much more useful than a street map of the city.

RE: map,
Tim, I am having trouble with my mail and I did not get it because the letter bounced back to you. My box is empty and sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. If you can turn the map to jpg and add it to the main page of Hollywood Cemetery (Find A Grave) that way I can get it from there. You can try to send it to me again and maybe this time it will not bounce back. Thank you so much for contacting me. Cheryl
