Bio Photo First off....FEEL FREE TO USE MY PHOTOS OF HEADSTONES in your family trees...they're the last photos taken of our loved ones' time on this earth....The writing on headstones will fade over time but these pictures on findagrave will not.....

I've been doing our family genealogy for about 6 years now. I started my journey by looking for the ship my Grandfather came over from Yugoslavia on. I had the information on my Grandmother, but I could never find Grandpa's. Two days ago, on November 10, 2006, I finally found it!!! What a joyous moment for me! Because of my quest to find my family, I've been able to trace my husband's family back to Stephen Flanders (thanks to all the Genealogy books and family trees by Flanders family members), the Mansfield's back to Samuel (1804), and the Wolff's (Wolf, Wolfe) back to the 1700's. What a journey! I am really hooked now on finding our family. All four of my Grandparents were born in Yugoslavia and Lithuania. My parents are the first generation American. Needless to say, it's going to take me a lot longer to find MY roots! I really enjoy walking through cemeteries and taking pictures of unique headstones and the headstones of veterans. I take a picture of EVERY headstone of Flanders, Wolf, Wolfe, Wolff, Mansfield, Josephites, Josephitis, Juozapaitis, Altabas and other family names that may be relatives, because I know that someone--somewhere--is also looking for them. If you are a relative of any of my postings and want me to add family information, please e-mail me. I know how important the names of spouses, parents and children are to any information on my postings are a big help!

Lovina Nay Dysart/James Dysart Grave Photo
Hello Donna,

My name is Sherri Ogborn Roth and I am researching the Dysart line of the Columbus, Ohio area. I saw your photo of Lovina Nay Dysart. My grandmother was Grace Elizabeth Dysart, great-grand daughter of Lovina and daughter of John C Dysart and Oldean Strayer. I am looking for the parents and grandparents of James Dysart and Lovina Nay.
Any help or direction would be appreciated...thank you.

Margaret Weatherington
Hi, I just came across a note sent to you a few years ago which questioned the identity of Margaret Weatherington, (1759-1828),
wife of John Weatherington, as an Osman. The submitter seems
to have been unaware that a Margaret Weatherington is listed as
an heir in the estate settlement of Elizabeth Osman, in Hampshire Co., VA/WV, the widow of Isaac Osman, (b.c.1716
Southold, Suffolk, NY - d.abt.1783). The nine known children of
Isaac and Elizabeth Osman seem to have been born about 1740
to 1760. So Margaret would certainly fit with being identical with
John's wife. Unless one can identify another Weatherington with
Hampshire Co., VA/WV connections from the same period with a
wife named Margaret, the probability of the maiden name of the
Margaret Weatherington buried in Obetz Cemetery being Osman
is much greater than your earlier correspondent seems to have
been aware.

RE: Relation
Not sure if I ever replied to your message. I am Roger's son. John and Adrian were my aunt and uncle although I didn't have a chance to interact with them much. Adrian's daughter just brought my grandfather's (Charles Mansfield) military records to California. I was happy to see that as I served in the military as well. She also brought a blue book which is the supposed history of the Mansfield family. I would like to compare it with any notes you have of the family history.

Ernest Kent
Jennie Shaffer (Kent)
Hi, Donna

This entry shows a relation to Hannah Kent. I am Hannah's gg-grandson and would be very interested to know the evidence that links this burial to Hanna's daughter Jane Kent. I know there was a marriage in Tippecanoe of a Jane Kent to a John Shaffer in the right time-frame, but I would be very interested to know what other evidence you have or anyone else has provided for the identification. Thank you so much!

Ernie Kent.
