Bio and Links
Bio Photo Additional information and corrections are very welcome. Feel free to use my headstone photos too, but photo credit would be nice.

If anyone wants to take over the management of their family member's memorial from me, just ask. As long as you're related to the deceased, that's good enough for me. Please remember to include your Find A Grave ID number when requesting the transfer.

Please do not post complete obituaries on my memorials (too many problems with people's privacy and copyright infringement). Paraphrasing the main points from an obituary is great, and I'm happy to add that if you forward it to me using the Edit tab.

And finally...

Transcript from the Amador Ledger (Calif.), November 2, 1900:
On the gate of the cemetery in Rio de Janeiro is a notice in Spanish, French, and English that no dogs are admitted unless led by the owner. This is how the announcement is made in English: "Noble mesdames and gentlemen who may desire a dog to follow in this tombsyard will be permission unless him drawn by a cable round him throttle."

RE: Arles Crosley photo request
You're welcome. Sorry it wasn't happier news. I have a great-uncle buried in that area too. It is very sad.

Arles Crosley photo request
Hi sorry but according to the cemetery office, he is buried in the old section (considered to be the pauper's section) and there is no headstone for him. It's an area that we are not allowed to access. I have posted a photo of what the area looks like. There are many buried there and all with no headstones. So sorry about that.

OK I usually try to have the requester get the location so I don't keep bothering the office staff. I do have a few that I will be going in the office for locations and I will for sure ask about yours as well.

Name Change for Caroline Marguerite Hamelbacher Larkin
Kathie; thank you so much for adding my grandmother's entry into Find A Grave. We noticed that her maiden name is incorrect. Hamelbacher was actually her mother's maiden name. Caroline's actual maiden name was Yeager. If you could please change it, that would be appreciated. Or, you can reassign the ownership over to me if you would like. My name is J Michael Duggan, and my email address is

Marvin S. Dart
Hi Kathie,

I had saw that you left a message on Marvin Dart's page. Do you happen to know him personally? I am doing some research on my dad's side of the family and was wondering if you could give me some information if you knew him. Thank you!

Herbert Calcaterra #100755050
Hi Kathie - got an edit (just adding middle name & place of death) this morning on Herbert. Reminded me of our combined quest awhile back to gather information on our young man (and I do think of him as "our" young man.) Hoping all is well with you and yours and wish you a joyful summer. Phyllis :o)

Lt. Lawrence Woolf
I noticed you maintain the memorial for Lt. Woolf. Do you happen to know anything about the family he left behind? I am searching for his daughter. Thank you.
