Bio Photo I would like to thank everyone whose hard work has been so beneficial to researchers world-wide. This is an amazing website!

Also, a special thanks goes out to the volunteers in my area who have done such a wonderful job. You all are my inspiration.

My mission is to pay it forward by helping others find ancestors who have been lost by time, distance, and untold stories.

This project is like a giant puzzle that a million people are working, and we all know the majority of the pieces are missing!

Florence Belle Cornett Crittenden (Long)
Florence was married to Dr. A.M. Crittenden. After his death she married Rufus Long. Records indicate she is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery; however, she is not on cemetery listing. I did find that her name is on Crittenden's headstone.I cannot tell from the photo whether her death date is engraved. Her Kentucky Death Cert #28080 died 13 Dec. 1944 - Name listed as Florence Bell Long. Her parents were Ulyses C. Cornett and Cynthia W. Burgher.
Just wondering if her name could appear on the cemetery listing.

Thank you for all the great work you do.

Thanks for the information. I have either corrected, added, or otherwise processed the corrections you requested. I contacted the owner for one duplicate. I requested edits 2 years ago for two more, and got a reply to make my own.

RE: James N Calhoun
Thank you once more. I found a site that shows all pages of the application. It is very helpful. Another brother died at Gettysburg, PA Nahi B Calhoun.

I think James N Calhoun went to different county to enlist - because he was lying about age.

RE: James N Calhoun
Thank you so very, very, much. I am helping my neighbor who now lives near Guilford Co, NC and James N Calhoun is his great grandfather. His family history is all in Guilford County! Thank you again.

Memorial 76770718. Infant J.C. Orvil Garrett was the son of Thomas Jethro Garrett and Mary Ellen Edwards.

Just an FYI.

You certainly have contributed a lot to this website. Every time I track down another Pittman kinsman, D.L. Lee has been there!

Find A Grave Memorial# 88291111

Do you have any proof this is the correct person? He would have been 14 according to his birth date. In census records 1850 and 1860 he was a couple years older. It seems odd for someone so young to start as corporal :

James N. Calhoun
Regiment State/Origin
North Carolina
1st Regiment, North Carolina Infantry
Rank In
Rank Out

He lived in Guilford County, NC in 1860

James N Calhoun
Warren County, North Carolina
Enlistment Date:
13 Jul 1861
Rank at enlistment:
Enlistment Place:Sergeant on 30 Nov 1864.Mustered out on 05 Jan 1865.Transferred to on 05 Jan 1865.
North Carolina Troops 1861-65, A Roster I

Any help is appreciated. Birth dates can be inaccurate sometimes. Gwen
