Retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer with over 29 years of service. I am also the wife of a retired US Army soldier and the mother of a soldier who was injured in Iraq from an IED but was able to complete his tour of duty! SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!! Please Honor all our military without complaining on memorials!

My memorials are lopsided as I manage a deceased cousin's contributions to Findagrave.

If Findagrave doesn't approve of comments in our profiles, they DO access our profiles and delete comments and some of our flowers in our scrapbooks.

TRANSFERS: I follow Findagrave's guidelines of the 4-generation rule for transfers; aunts/uncles/cousins are not included in the transfer rule. Consider creating a virtual cemetery to keep your relatives together. If the individual in the 4-generation rule transfer request is closer related to me or my family members, then I will maintain the memorial(s).

DEATH CERTIFICATES are welcomed on my memorials as they are in the public domain and, although at times there are errors, they can provide a wealth of information. I add them so individual's who cannot afford have access to their relative(s) documents. It's my way of paying back. And now Findagrave is owned by

SUGGESTIONS: For those making suggestions, please research and provide the researched information for me to update. Additionally; 1: If someone has a duplicate memorial, courtesy is to ask that individual to delete it FIRST before asking Findagrave to get involved.

HEADSTONE PHOTO VOLUNTEERS-If you volunteer and post headstone photos, please take a photo of the COMPLETE marker. I find more and more that some individuals crop the bottom of the markers off - especially on military grave sites, which does an injustice to our veterans. You took the time to take the photo, then PLEASE take the time to crop & post the headstone photo correctly.

Please don't create additional IDs and claim photo requests because you have used your allotted photo claims or you fail to take the photo in a timely manner and then reclaim it under another one of your IDs (which is illegal by Findagrave rules). Contributors know who you are and, should the need arise, you will be reported to the Administrators for abusing the system.

SSDI-Regarding the "Last Residence" in the SSDI: This is the last address of record, not necessarily where the individual died. Please do not ask me to list it as the place of death on memorial pages - to do so would only be a guess.

I work hard on Findagrave and have sponsored quite a few memorials. Please be a contributor and not just a person who adds names. It's great to see the people who do provide research.

RE: Presidio Cemetery Memorials
Thanks so much for your note. I've never been to Presidio, although my grandmother was born there. I have many photos of gravesites of the Russell family labeled from the "Presidio Cemetery" that go back to the 1870s. So, could you do me a favor and verify that Maria Thomasa Russell, memorial #60984904 (my GG-grandmother), is indeed in the Desert Hills Cemetery you mentioned (thus, I presume that it was renamed along the way). Thanks so much for your help - Researcher.

These Hallowed Grounds
Still looking for Rowena Lee Davis cemetery site. Someone mentioned she might be buried in the Anson and Stanly counties for the 'John Lee Cemetery' and 'Old Davis cemetery'.

I believe she also mentioned a book - "These Hallowed Grounds". Would you know if it's still available? May be a cemetery book for Anson - I'll check there.

I love, Love your spirit ! I know you are a family loving person and I can tell the past is a big element of your desire to help anyone who needs it. So glad to meet you. If there is anything you need out of central GA let me know I frequent many places. I will be glad to take pictures and look up things in county court houses. Enjoy your ride... Bren Sorensen

Not sure you can answer this but --- do you have any idea where Rowena Lee Davis is buried? Recently was told "I believe Rowena Lee Davis was said to be buried in the John Lee cemetery on the Anson side of the river. If not, the most likely place would be in the old Davis cemetery off Old Davis road in Stanly County. The land is still in the family."

I've checked for both cemeteries and found nothing. Would like to put an appropriate end to this story.

Wow what a gift !! YOur edits made me feeling like I have opened a beautiful gift ! THank you so much for all you do with find a grave and for family research in general.. I had no way of finding the full name for Mrs. Virden. Money is short and I do what I can with photographs which I enjoy taking and posting. Hope only the best comes through your door in 2017 from the a military family to another. Both my parents, my husband and I, and my oldest son are vets and I honor each and every soul that stood up for our country. Thank you for your service ! Bren Sorensen
