First and foremost I want to thank Diehard (#46809256) for sponsoring my mother's memorial. I know not who you are, but I do know you are a wonderful person. |
My American ancestors include the families of Arnold, Bennett, Berrisford, Black, Branham, Bryant, Butler, Campbell, Cardwell, Dailey, Dickey, Dorton, Finney, Fraser, Haas, Hales/Hale, Hawkins, Hieatt, Hughes, Jackson, Kendall, Lapsley, Lindsay, Litten, Littrell, Lloyd, Lutz, McBride, McQueen, Meffert/Mefford, Muir, Neal/O'Neal, Pace, Parsons, Perrin, Philips, Pierce, Powers, Pulliam, Redman/Redmon, Roberts, Rucker, Rush, Samms/Sams, Scott, Sheets, Shirley, Sudduth, Stewart, Stuart, Tuley/Tooley, Trout, Vallandingham, Ward, Ware, Williams, Wirt, Witt, Woods, and Woolums. I have traced many of these back to their Europeon roots as well. I will gladly share with you any information I have on their births or deaths. Feel free to ask.
I live in Kentucky, where I have spent the majority of my life, and have been doing genealogy for 45 years. As a young girl of 10, I was out walking graveyards, and scouring through court house records while most kids were playing with toys. I remember even before that, I would sit and read the papers my mother had on our family and go through old family albums over and over. I learned all the names of those in the pictures. I have always loved learning new things about my ancestors and their families.

Oh my gosh...I didn't notice the error on the index. The actual death certificate is correct. It shows Ezra Redmon, Sr. and Iva Lee Snider. I don't see a single Kelley on the document. Odd! I'll request an index correction on findagrave.
Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899-2011
Name: Ezra Redmon Jr.
Marital Status: Divorced
Birth Date: 18 Oct 1931
Birth Place: Kentucky
Death Date: 16 Sep 1981
Death Place: New Albany, Floyd, Indiana, USA
Father: Ezra Kelley Sr.
Mother: Iva Lee Kelley Sr.
Thank you so much,
|Shelly Tindal||RE: Ezra Redmon 1931-1981|
Kelley? I'm not sure I understand. Ezra's parents were Ezra Redmon and Iva Lee Snider.
I appreciate the clue of Dickey being killed in the Civil War. I had thought of that because of the time line. I will try to follow up on this. I have not been working on the Dickey line but interested because of Rebecca and her children. Thank you. Frieda

I am interested in learning anything i can on James Hieatt. Was spelling the name of hieatt changed from Hyatt to Hieatt . My grandfather apparently changed the spelling of his name !!! WHy we don't know. I would be interested in learning if the Hyatts of Kentucky are linked to the Hieatt's or vise versa. I don't know when my grandfather changed his spelling. So if there is any information on that I would be interested in that. Thanks so Much Cherylvitel4455@att.net.

Thank You very much for transferring my 4th Great-Grandmother to my care.
Rather than cause any hard feelings or problems with a formal Find A Grave insistence to have her parent's memorials reflect the facts of when and where they died and are buried I will add the info to Susanna's memorial and then link them. Maybe the owner of her parent's memorials will make the needed changes on their own. Either way the info will be there.
One of the reasons I feel "unknown burial" is important is that you never know when another person will see it and say, "I know where they're buried," and contact a memorial owner with the new information. I've been able to do this several times. Only twice have memorial owners refused to accept my information.
If you like the photos you've seen check out my 7th Great-Grandfather's memorial (#105549121). I have several different photos of his house in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York. The house was built circa 1675. The Van Cleave/Cleve/Cleef family is my grandmother's line.
Once again, Thank You.

Hi I'm a granddaughter of Nancy Akins that you have on Find A Grave, we are trying to get to it, do you have any better directions? We have been on Rogers Rd many times and can't find the spot. If you can help me I would be very grateful.

Sorry. I was just attempting to make a point. The memorial I wanted Susannah linked to is not mine. I have attempted to get the owner to add the correct death date and location, and cemetery. But they have refused. There is a lot of frustration with getting corrected information attached to memorials when people will not accept new documented information that contradicts old theories. My apologies.
|Lynne Belcher Burgess RN||Decline of George Vallandingham's Edit|
Just received your edit decline regarding George's mother. Following is a quote from published Vallandingham historian, H. Leon Vallandingham regarding confusion about George's mother:
(1) "On 28 August, 1762 Richard, a planter, leased 113 acres from John Watson of Maryland. The term of the lease was 'during the lifetime of Richard and Mary his present wife and unto the end of the life of his first born son, George.' "
Then a second wife:
(2) "On 6 July, 1779 Richard Vallandingham married Rebecca Andison (Anderson) in Montgomery County, Maryland. This marriage in Maryland Records , Vol. 2, by G. M. Brumbaugh, Reprint 1975." Source: J Leon Valandingham's Volume I, Vanlandingham Genealogy, Revised 2004.
"Some family histories list "Eleanor (Nellie) as Richard's wife, but Eleanor was Richard's daughter. Nellie never married and remained in Richard's home during (h)is lifetime." Source: J Leon Valandingham's Volume I, Vanlandingham Genealogy, Revised 2004.
Would you mind sharing with me the primary data you are citing to reject the edit that also confirms your information?

Excuse me, but this site is nothing more than a Genealogical tree-building site. A court of law would agree. Sooo, you're being insulting. You're denying what Find-A-Grave is all about.
|Debra Northrup||Thank You|
I am Mattie Allen Clark Johnson's daughter, Debra. I appreciate you keeping up on our family information.
Lets communicate sometime in the near future!
