I would like to thank everyone whose hard work has been so beneficial to researchers world-wide. This is an amazing website!|
Also, a special thanks goes out to the volunteers in my area who have done such a wonderful job. You all are my inspiration.
My mission is to pay it forward by helping others find ancestors who have been lost by time, distance, and untold stories.
This project is like a giant puzzle that a million people are working, and we all know the majority of the pieces are missing!

Not related but thanks for asking. My family and I do have kin in the cemetery and are checking out the proper way to clean the stones. We understand the type of stone can make a big difference.
|Diane Addington||Woodson Penrod|
Well, this is interesting. I just found this in my notes:
Woodson was born to Ollie Mae Level from Penrod and was the son of Rufus Randolf. The story that I have heard all my life was that Uncle Clyde Penrod, while at work, saw Woodson who was about 4 years old, trying to retrieve a piece of bread from some water with a stick. Whether it was a water puddle, ditch or larger body of water, I do not remember. Uncle Clyde adopted Woodson before he married Mabel Shemwell.
Happy near the end of school!
Can you do some checking on this...The stones indicate these dates, however the time line could not be correct:
Laura Mable Shemwell Penrod,
(Find A Grave Memorial# 115699780)
Jun. 22, 1907-Dates cannot be correct-R W born in 1918
Raymond Woodson Penrod
(Find A Grave Memorial# 79576364)
Sep. 20, 1918

Thanks for the info. It is done.

Are you related to the above (buried in Kelly Cemetery, Spring Lick, Ky)? If so, I will forward a photo of the Spring Lick School (1909). There may others you could identify.
There is another John Wortham (also in Kelly Cemetery) but I don't believe he to be the one shown in the photo mentioned above.

Hi, this is my great-gran. If you're not kin, would you kindly transfer this memorial to me?
I have more information to add.
