My beautiful daughter Megan Elaine Brookover |
San Diego has some of the best Find a Grave contributors who are doing an amazing job of documenting our local cemeteries. If you need a grave photo there is no shortage photo volunteers. If you are looking for an obituary, cemetery information or advice we have volunteers happy to help you.
If you are new to Find a Grave and want to start contributing in the San Diego area please read the FAQs or reach out to someone with your questions.
Please always do a search before creating a new memorial
Links, Corrections and additional information
Please use the edit tab and I will be happy to make corrections, add links and additional information. Do not leave information you want added on this page.
Note: Abstracted lists (such as census, death index, etc.) should be formulated into complete sentences prior to submitting for addition to the bio.
Copy-and-paste census, military and other data is not a "bio"." "Please don't send these types of edits because they will not be added.
This is Find-a-Grave, we find graves, so please, if the memorial doesn't have a grave photo, request one prior to asking for a transfer.
I'm pretty liberal when it comes to transfers, however too many times I have transferred and nothing is added or changed. So if you want a transfer, please:
1. Post any family photos (if you have them)
2. Provide me with family links and biographical information you wish to add to the memorial.
3. Tell me your exact relationship
I will not make a transfer if you create excessive memorials with unknown burial locations.
Please be a Find a Grave contributor, not just a collector of someone else's work
✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate.

|Carolyn Andrighetti||Fredericka Wilhelmina Kirkham|
I forgot to tell you I got her death date from the California Death Index on Ancestry.
I was going to add info on all the sons this week, but will let you do that to bring your memorials up to date.
|Carolyn Andrighetti||Benjamin Franklin Kirkham & Wife Fredericka Wilhelmina Kirkham|
My brother owns the land where Elisa Jane Kirkham's tombstone is located. I did research on her after he found her tombstone four or five years ago. Two weeks ago he asked me to do a lot more on her and her husband as he is selling the land and wanted to put together her story for a brochure on the land.
All the following is on Ancestry:
Benjamin Franklin is on the 1880 Lake County, Colorado census living with his brother. He is ill.
In 1900 he is in Poway, San Diego, California with Fredericka (she spelled it without the k) and their four sons.
On March 2, 1908, Fredericka filed in the Superior Court of California to become a naturalized citizen. She listed her full name, where she was born in Germany (I cannot read the town), the full name of her husband, the names of her children and their birth dates and where they were living, and where she was living.
It is either the 1892 or 1894 California Voter's list that gives Benjamin's full name, lists him as 63, 5 feet 10 inches tall, dark complexion, gray eyes and gray hair, and born in Indiana.
If you need more let me know.

I'm trying to find some research done by the late David Smith on this memorial https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=146268226
I am looking for any documentation that he may have found on Eleanor Hurst Tout. Any assistance that you can give would be appreciated.

|Connie Langvardt||RE: Nettie L Sherer Kuder|
I thought perhaps you didn't see the connection between Nettie and her mother. It is very confusing because Nettie married her stepbrother, the son of her mother's 2nd husband. So she was shown on FindaGrave as Nettie Kuder between 2 brothers with the surname Sherer.
I believe it is correct.
|Mike Laughton||Grayson Birch Carter|
Do you know of anyone who is related to this man? I am related to him through marriage. His wife was a Laughton.
Some time ago I inherited a military footlocker of his full of old family pictures. I'm looking for a relative of his who might appreciate and want the photos.
I can be reached at:
Thanks for any info you can provide.
|Danny McHale||Find A Grave Memorial# 99598767|
I've been in contact with Glenn Franklin's son and he said the photo you have is incorrect. I'm not sure what the source of that photograph is, but it appears to be incorrect.
Thanks for all you do.
|Kati McSweeney||RE: Margaret Leisenring|
GENNAPHYR 13 SEP 2017: Hi- I received your edits - please share your sources - thanks
First, I want to thank you so much for posting my Leisenring cousins at Greenwood Memorial Park! Your work has been invaluable to my researching my family tree. More Leisenring cousins are buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in San Diego (not sure off the top of my head if you're responsible for their postings too).
I just posted my cousin Margaret Elizabeth Leisenring's primary obituary and the resources are attached to each scan. She was a silent film actress from age 9 until her death at age 20. Her stage name was "Jean Stuart".

CUT & PASTE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Stuart
Would you please be so kind to add Margaret's stage name "Jean Stuart" to her bio section? It will help other researchers in the future.
To date, I've accumulated 28 newspaper articles on Margaret alone (still gathering on the rest of the Leisenring family). Many are on her acting career, a smaller batch are on her life as a coed at UC Berkeley. I've only posted her primary obituary at Find A Grave.
My resources are Ancestry.com, Genealogy Bank, Rootsweb, Google, and others.
If you have no qualms about transferring memorial pages, I would be honored to care for my cousins' memorial pages you've posted. MY ID# is: 46899027.
MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE!
With heartfelt gratitude,
in Canoga Park, CA
|Sue||RE: Andrew Riddle|
I found where I obtained the information and will send you a PDF from the file that is located on Ancestry.com if you will email me direct. My email is on my contributor page. If you review the information and believe it is flawed, I did not take the time to verify the information in the document and have tried to find a death notice in the San Diego County newspapers online since you first contacted me and do not yet find one. I've been adding info on people as I'm researching items related to Valley Center. I'm not keying in to which edit for Andrew Riddle you're inquiring about. Would you be able to help refresh me on it? Thanks!
