My husband, John Kennedy & I started out visiting churches to make a picture of them and an over-all-view of their cemetery. John's sister told us about findagrave.com. We became interested.|
It is a wonderful site and we are trying to help others find their ancestors graves. Also we do not want to make mistakes as this will lead to someone going in the wrong direction to find the graves of their ancestors or loved ones.
If I have a monument photo, then the memorial I make is in that cemetery. I don't post memorials from other sources.
I am getting some request about some info I have added that someone says is wrong etc. The only things I have added, is through the edit button at top of my profile page. This has to be where the wrong info is coming from. Sorry.
If anyone is asking for a transfer from me, please send your membership number.
If you send a request, and I am slow in responding, sorry but I am recovering from breast cancer.

Hi Carol, Yes that is the cemetery I was referring to. I was visiting it a few weeks ago after finding it listed on google earth as Truitt Cemetery. When I arrived there the caretaker, Ben, was mowing the grass. He took us to another cemetery in the woods down the road from there that you have to get to via 4 wheeler and a short hike. That cemetery contained mostly Spicers. But he also gave me a numbered map he had made of the Truitt/Joines cemetery and a list of of names and dates that correspond with the numbers on the headstones. He was super nice!

I was out visiting the Joines Cemetery in Traphill, NC this past weekend where I ran into the caretaker. It seems this cemetery has had several names over the past decades, one of which is Truitt. In fact, that's how I found it. I google earthed Truitt Cemetery and it brings up this piece of property, The guy who is the caretaker says it was also called Adams Cemetery at one time. Would you mind adding the Truitt Cemetery as an aka to the name of this cemetery? Thanks so much!
|Sanebee||Florence E. Church Dockery|
I posted the information for Florence and linked her to her parents. Thanks for the information.
Also, do you know that you can put a memorial in Find A Grave for Wanda Dockery Gouker without a cemetery? You just use the box - ashes given to family. then you can link the memorial to her parents. I have done just that for my brother who was not buried.

I saw the same things you did. Perhaps the duplicate memorial is the only problem. I sent you those two memorial numbers.

Good morning Carol, I was searching for parental links and came across what appears to be a duplicate cemetery in your area. Would you take a look at Taylor Cemetery, Taylor Family Cemetery, Wilkes County and see if there's a duplicate cemetery. I found a duplicate memorial on
Thanks for the picture of Brownlee and Sally Combs Holbrook. Do you have any idea if Brownlee had a first or middle name of Presley? The dates I have for Sally and Presley are the same. Just thought you might know.
Thanks for your information and pictures. It is really exciting when someone posts that kind of information.

Thanks for your help. Will try to get in touch with the library. Michael Mayberry
|Michael Mayberry||Yellow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery|
I was wondering if you know the history of this cemetery? Is this a new name for the cemetery? My relation buried there, Elizabeth Michael Lee, and her death certificate said she was buried at Summit Cemetery. Was Summit the old name and it changed to Yellow Hill? Any help appreciated.
