Bio and Links
Bio Photo I AM NOT,NOR DO I CLAIM TO BE PERFECT.

MEMORIALS:Mistakes are made,we are human.Wrong names, wrong date, wrong pictures or wrong relationship links on memorials do happen.

BIO INFO:I will no longer clutter up a memorial's bio area with:Birth record info if already linked to parents,Marriage record info if already linked to spouse(s),SSDI info if date of death is already present etc.If you want to add this info then please ask for a transfer & I will gladly transfer to you.

CORRECTIONS:Please use the edit tab to make corrections to name, dates, etc instead of sending a personal email.

MAIDEN NAMES:Name is listed as found so please be kind if misspelled.I will list a woman's legal married name at death even if the headstone says otherwise.

PICTURES TAKEN:Feel free to use any picture I have taken as that is why I do it.If a picture is out of focus, shadowed, etc let me know and if it is locally available I will retake for you.

NUMBERS:Are not important to me.That is not why I do this.Helping family find family and remembering the dearly departed is.

TRANSFERS:As long as not related to me I will transfer to anyone willing to care for it.If asking for a particular memorial as of now I will transfer the whole family. It makes no sense for me to keep the rest of the family of a requested memorial.

GUIDELINE:I find it ridiculous someone holding onto memorials they are not related to based on a GUIDELINE,not a rule.

PLEASE: Let me know if you are offended by the addition of a memorial for a loved one and I will gladly remove it.It is not my intention to upset anyone.

Glenn, you're absolutely right. Thanks for the interesting story about how the family tried to accommodate her blindness.

RE: John Gilbaugh - Atlantic Cemetary, Iowa
Thanks for responding Glen! I won the bet! I did some digging to see if this kind of headstone was common in the 1800's and found that men who belonged to the Woodsman of the World fraternity were given this type of gravestone as a benefit of membership. The practice lasted only a few years which is why the are rare. From what I understand no two stones are the same. I can't wait to make the trek to Atlantic to see it!

Glenn, thank you so much for taking the picture of my great great granddad's grave. It is so very cool! We are having a debate over whether the headstone is made of stone or wood. Do you remember taking the picture? If so, can you enlighten us? I plan to make a trip to see it, but it is several hundred miles away. Thanks again for taking the time to take these pictures.
