Bio and Links
Bio Photo I kept putting this short bio off, but after doing photo requests for people and "meeting them" through their bios, I decided it was time. I am a retired school teacher who loves doing genealogy work and exploring cemeteries. I love the concept of Find A Grave where people in different areas are so willing to help each other with photos. When my husband and I are fulfilling photo requests, we sometimes add more stones to a cemetery. I am always willing to "give these up" to family members who can add more information. Just ask.

William John Pickerill
Hello Barbara, are you the one I talked to today at the Floyd Cemetery Civil War dedication in Sioux City? If so, I am the one that mentioned to you I was related to the Pickerills in Avoca cemetery, I am the one that made their memorials on Findagrave, and you are the one who found Williams obit for me! Did you tell me that a Civil War headstone was ordered for William Pickerill? I am sure it was you I talked to today, if not the woman sure looked like your profile picture on Findagrave. Please let me know! Brenda Allyn.

RE: Hannah Barton
I thought I replied to this but I guess I didn't, lol! I feel like you already went to the trouble to go out there once. If you wanted to, that would be really nice. Truely, I'm grateful either way. It is very sweet of you to offer. Thank you so much!

Thank you for looking & trying. I think William & Virginia were divorced, that could be why the family didn't erect a tombstone.

Is there anyway you could please add a picture of the tombstone for William ‘Willie’ Franklin Millis? He is my grandma Stella Millis Johnson's brother. Thanks you

RE: Graceland Cemetery - Avoca, Iowa
Those families have married in my ancestors. I like to update any grave when I find information. Thank You for the offer, but they are not family.

RE: Photographs for Annie Blake & Merritt Barnes
I forgot to address the other part of your message. It is possible that the Walter Blake that you found is the brother of Annie Blake. She did have a brother by that name but I have very limited information on him. I do know he would have been born around the same time as the dates you provided me. Now it's got me interested in finding more information about this person.

RE: Photographs for Annie Blake & Merritt Barnes
Hi Barbara,
The obituary would be fantastic. I do not have that piece of information. What a terrific addition that would be to my collection on my family. I greatly appreciate your offer and look forward to what you can find on Merritt.
As for Annie, I have an obituary that I've found here on FindaGrave.com. It appears that whoever created her page used the obit as the narrative. I believe she died elsewhere so it would make some sense that you couldn't find her's in the same place.
Thanks again,
Ashley Creech Cox
